Is it possible to have a windows based program run on my android device?

Ok, so I run a program on my computer called HP Tuners that is used to datalog and tune gm vehicles. It has become a major pain carrying my laptop everywhere I go just to have the battery run out while im tuning. So what I am wondering is if there is any way that this software can be setup to run on my Sprint HTC Hero?

Running a binary compiled for a windows machine will not be possible anytime in the near future on Android. Emulation of that type would probably burn up your battery faster than the laptop would have run out anyways due to the extremely high overhead.

If the program was coded using C, it would behoove the company who makes it to port it to Android using the NDK.

Regardless, the answer to your question is definitely no, but there is a great solution you should look into. The app is called Voyager and it logs OBDII info over a bluetooth dongle you plug into the port under the dash and sends it to the web using your data connection.

BTW- It sounds like someone is pretty heavy into LSx tuning. Is anyone over at LS1.com doing this stuff yet?

Set up a VNC Server (TightVNC) connection to your Windows computer and use one of the VNC apps on the Market to log into your Windows PC and run the application. This actually works pretty good once you learn to navigate within th VNC app. I do this all the time with a VB database of my clients and schedules.

I will definitely look into the Voyager and see how well I like it, anything that helps with the datalogging portion will be great

I love tuning, just sucks toting the bag with all the connections, external hard drive, and laptop everywhere i go. I started tuning on DSMs (95 Eclipse GSX) then moved on to building tunes for a few LS6s, LS1s, and an LS2 here and there.

Right now im working on a lot of LSJs (Cobalt SS/SC) they are fairly easy to tune and can be a bunch of fun, gotta love the SC whine.

yea I have used VNC servers before, just wondering how much of a pita that would be as far as speed and movement wise from my android

can you explain how to do this i need to run a cctv system from my phone its windows based so cant load it on my desire
