thanks for pointing that out. I didn't scroll down far enough to see that a tester had left a comment. good find.

Yup. The fact that the tutorial and comment were posted on March 21st could mean that test units are still floating around out there - and that we're not as close to release as we believe...

NKT, might you have any knowledge here? Does verizon testing usually occur in a "one and done" fashion, or are there often multiple "waves" of testing?

Are we waiting for the Incredible because VZW wants to put it out on their new LTE 4G network? Tony -- Verizon Wireless' Senior VP and CTO -- affirmed that Verizon would be "interested" in getting a smartphone on its LTE network that could double as a mobile hotspot.
If that's the case we're going to be waiting until 2011 when VZW is suppose to release their first LTE phone and I doubt they are going to stop releasing phones just to have them LTE compatible :p.

First post in this thread, but the official (not testman) vzw site is down. I suspect it is only for the new MyVerizon, but though it was worth noting anyway. Here is for an announcement tomorrow, no matter how improbable. :)

Nkk

EDIT: It seems store.verizonwireless is working, but when I tried to log in to myvVerizon, it tells me it is down. So almost definately the MyVZW upgrade.

argghhh....after another disappointing day with no Incredible in sight, I won't say it again. I am going to bed and not look forward to the Incredible being released at CTIA. From here on, it will be released when it is released. It's just to disappointing sitting here all day and all night in hopes of reading about a release. Good night everyone.

If I don't hear any sort of confirmation by April 6th, I will be making the news.
Good evening America I am reporting from Verizon Headquarters where an unknown disgruntled customer has taken his wireless anger into his own hands. He is not attacking Verizon officers with a gun but instead throwing Motorola MC750 phones know as "The Brick" at Corporate Officers from the top of a 12th floor building located across the street from Verizon Wireless Headquarters. Obviously Verizon has done something to piss off a large Customer base as donations of MC750's are coming in from around the country. In a short phone conversation the disgruntled customer stated "all we want is a top of the line phone before other networks. We are tired of getting the phone 3-6 months after the other networks." Donations of MC750's can be sent to

So I woke up this morning thinking to myself that I was going to just buy a Droid today and hope the Incredible or N1 came out within the next 30 days. But as I sit here in the nude (too much?) I see people talking about the 27th again and my ability to wait was extended.......by 3 days.

I don't have to have the phone in three days, just an idea of a) when can I get it b) do I HAVE to get something else c) if this farking thing exists and d) can I watch porn on it. Yes you heard me right. My phone needs the ability to push my Outlook email to me (in a few months as my company is moving to Outlook from Lotus Notes), consolidate my Gmail stuff as well as surf for porn.

I say this because if this phone can surf for porn then it can do anything and if this phone can do anything then I am all for waiting for it. I normally prefer a physical keyboard but the keyboard on the Droid is a major failure on Motorola's part. TP2 sets the bar for keyboards.....everyone knows it....why not just copy it enough to ot get in trouble?

Going to put some clothes on now.

TMI, TMI!!

I think I will be doing the same pickup of the Droid. I have a 3 year old 6800 that is on its last leg, and I want to get on the Android platform asap. I just hope that the Incredible is announced or released within my 30 day window...

Was in the verizon store yesterday plotting my strategy for a 30 day Droid to Incredible (or what ever they might call it) swap and get rid of the rogue (that Samsung doesn't support). I definitely agree with tluv00 that if it can surf porn (freeones.com) then it can handle anything. I'm pissed that TMO has the HD2 (4.3" screen) , Sprint is getting the HTC EVO 4G (4" screen) and we don't even have an official HTC Incredible announcement.
If nothing is said of the Incredible be this weeks end, do you still think it will come out in 30 days?

I think at this point no one can be sure WTH Big Red will do. They are probably waiting until the thing is nearly obsolete just to torture us all. Or better yet, these rumored specs are just rumors they leaked on purpose and aren't accurate. Heck, maybe this whole thing is a practical joke from some douche bag and co and all of our informants are really said douche bag and friends just messing with us. They are just sitting on their side of the screen laughing at how they can control so many lives with a made up phone. On April 1st, they are gonna come out and say "APRIL FOOLS!!!"

Or Not. Coffee please?

Ok, so I waited and waited for a call back from my source and didn't get a call back. Not sure how to take that...when I did talk to him he was very confident about the 27th.

I will make sure to post any updates. I will keep calling all day and all my sources till I get an answer as to where the hell this phone is.

On a side note:

I am going to see if I can catch a CSR off guard and tell them I want to cancel my account with 3 phones (all BB Curves) with data plans.

Well that's the same chip from the ROM dump ... thats the specs at broadcom. Maybe it isn't enabled by default ... IDK

Could be. All my analysis shows is there's a symbol in the kernel named that. Just means the driver is there...doesn't mean the hardware is...:D.

Probably a better place to check is the FCC listing for the device. If it does have N, and uses the 5 GHz band, it should have been tested there. 802.11n *can* be uses in the 2.4GHz band, but it isn't widely used since it interferes with Bluetooth and 802.11b/g.

Course, if the hardware can hack it (does it have the proper RF filters and amps in place for 5 GHz), I don't see why you couldn't get N...since there is similar hardware that does (*cough*N1*cough*).

Also, one last item. IIRC, the ROM has an internal build date on March 17th/19th or so (later than the kernel date that was previously reported). Find it odd that HTC would roll together a ROM and package it up so soon. Either it's still a test, or it's "gone gold" and ready to roll.
