*Rezound ICS OTA is live Thread*

I still say if you're on the leak the FULL ota will not work.

No need to worry about GB though, jut wait for the RUU and flash that

once I mounted the sd card I haven for had any other problems.. Hope it was fixed

You can use the 'status' option to see if it reports as being successful

Just the 7 worked? Or the 300mb one? Mine said .12 after the 7 also but I didn't have ICS yet ;)

lol

Menu-settings - software update - status
I know that. I want to know what the status screen shows if the 7mb file is successful. That way i can calm down and try to be patient.

I was actually able to delete, or rather at long last hide the BS bloatware apps!! Goodbye, VZ Navigator. Goodbye, Blockbuster!!

Note: I couldn't immediately disable. Had to first uninstall any updates and then go back in to disable.

Second thing I did.

The first? Chrome. Which, by the way, is kinda wonky... anyone else using it on the OTA and having ZERO problems? I know Flash is a big issue, but perhaps Verizon was kind enough to make that work?

Yeah, I didn't think so either.

The unmounting sd card is a bug in the .10 leak that I have noticed.
I tried reloading the leak and thought that it was fixed but it still comes back whenever I reboot the phone or many times when shutting down with fastboot enabled or using a usb connection. I am hoping this was addressed in the new build so that I don't have to go into storage settings and manually mount the sd card.

Funny you say that... On 2.3, I had tons of problems with my SD card showing as mounted, but a large portion (not all) of my pics were missing. I never really looked into which ones or why, but unmounting and mounting always did the trick.

Now, I've got the .10 leak, and I haven't had a single error in this respect. But I think you might be on to something with the fast-boot... Since ICS loads SO MUCH FASTER than Gingerbread, I turned fast boot off and have had no trouble. Perhaps they are connected somehow? I'm not sure what it could be but I suppose it could be.

My phone is acting up after the install. Every time I press the home button a white screen with the green HTC letters pulls up and then it has to load. Anybody know what the deal is?

I had this a few times when I first sideloaded the .10 leak. I think it still does it once in a while, but not as bad as it first did.

I still think it might be the memory management. When you hit Home, it "launches" via Sense. If Sense doesn't have enough memory, it will kill itself and reboot. If it acts up a lot over the next few days, try Settings > Developer options > Background process limit. I am tempted to try this myself if I see it happen again.

Good luck, and whatever you do, don't get all postal about it. Not suggesting that you are, but some people freak out about stuff.

I am in the minority here I think, I don't like Chrome on the PC and have not been impressed with it in ICS. Installed on Work phone to try to let it grow on me, but on my personal Rezound I really prefer Maxthon.

Thanks for the response. I just downloaded this on my PC, now how do I install it on the phone? In the recovery? Or just transfer it to the phones SD card in the root directory so it will find the update itself and install it?

Thanks!

Rename your file PH98IMG.zip and place it in /sdcard2 or /mnt/ext_sdcard (the root of your external SD card). Make sure fastboot is off. Make sure you are S-ON and unrooted. Turn the power off. Hold volume down button and turn power on. Phone will HBOOT, then find PH98IMG.zip and start doing its thing. Be patient, wait for everything, confirm that you do want to install when prompted, and be patient. When the phone finally boots up and goes to the spalsh screen, be patient, turn the phone off, be patient, be patient, and hold the volume down button and turn it on again. Be patient and turn the be patient phone back on again and the phone will be patient start HBOOT and start be patient all over be patient be patient again. Do it twice. Be patient.

I think.

I just intalled the .12 RRU over my .10 leak. I did not do the instal twice on purpose just to see what happens and so far no issues. I wonder if you needed to run the instal twice the first time around becasue of this "preparing for ICS" routine. Once you have had ICS on your phone the double run may not be necessary.

And developer menu and the ability to park (disable) apps are both still there on the .12 RRU.

I'll keep playing and let you know.

I find you really have to wait a couple days (and a couple reboots) before you really judge battery life on an update or ROM flash, apps are syncing and updating and caching. Obviously a 40% drain from a single app is not normal though. I bet if you reinstalled it soon it would be fine.

I'll be curious to see if the GPS is more accurate or not. Could be Latitude or just the phone, but my wife's location was always about 8 mile radius accurate before (she is a distance runner so having her location via Latitude is key if she needs me to pick her up mid run!). Should be like 15 feet!
