Hope to have a little help here, ive got the htc sensation black, i've had the odd battery running out really quick problem for a while. but about an hour ago i got a system update, i had lowish battery, but the it was completed fine, as the phone tried to boot up it only got as far as the white htc screen then went black again, and it repeats over and over, not getting any further than that screen. i was wondering if anyone had any ideas?

it was on charge, but i did take it out whilst it was doing it i'm sure of it being off charge, i know it wasnt much battery, but it did complete and install. On the re boot after thats when the problem occured, and still doing it now non stop... i've tried battery pull etc. just carrying on doing it though.
Help!

Does your hboot have a fastboot option in it? If so, you can run an ruu from the fastboot option. If it won't let you even select that, your only remaining option would be to install it from the sdcard while in hboot as it will auto detect the file in that instance. I'll look around and see if I can find the correct zip, otherwise we can extract it from the proper ruu. Any of those files I linked look like one for your phone?

the thing is, as soon as i plug it in, the orange light comes on for about 5 seconds, then goes off. And without pressing anything it powers on and then continues too come up the white screen like i've mentioned over and over again, my phone is on T-Mobile network, and i'm from the UK Liverpool in England to be precise.

That system update from a couple weeks ago...did it give you ICS and then this was a mainenace update to fix some things? Or were you still on Gingerbread after that update?

Also, have you ever been rooted before? When you goto the hboot screen does it say s-on at the top? In fact, it would be helpful if you could post all the info from the hboot screen. It should list the current hboot version and a few other things there.

I have sent a pm to a colleague and friend of mine who is very well versed on htc's (scotty85) to check out this thread. Perhaps he will have additional ideas I have overlooked. If not, we will at least try to get a consensus on what ruu to try.

I'm really hoping the phone will take a charge in the background or its going to make things more difficult than they already are. For now I would recommend pulling the battery then reinstall it. Then don't go back to hboot but instead just plug the phone in and hope it charges.

this is good advice. do this, and give him a couple hours and see if it will take a charge. we really need to be able to get you to fastboot for further investigating. if the battery wont charge, try taking the phone to a store and see if they can maybe charge it in a display phone,or sell you a new battery and/or an external charger.

last and not least, next time you boot the phone to fastboot, look and see if there are any numbers that are missing,as usually the baseband is displayed in hboot as well.

if you can get the battery charged up,a factory data reset is still the best first step.

once charged, all the menu options should be available for use, assuming your power button and vol rocker work :)

Hi Ive got a similar problem after i installed the update yesterday my phone's been playing up. It repeatedly seems to hang on the white screen with the green HTC on it but then it goes to a black screen and then back to a fully white screen switching rapidly between these. If i get to the home screen it will take ages to load and often just quit back the white screen or just go black. I've managed to get the hboot screen up with the following data

I've got control over the hboot screen and tried a factory reset but this didn't help.

Any suggestions?

Oh also I'm on T-mobile and from Edinburgh in Scotland, not sure what version of android i've been running but I've installed every update that has come out for my phone.

do you have any idea what your most recent build number was? its hard to reccomend the correct factory software for you stock,s-on guys as the sensation has so many CIDs and RUUs available, and the phone does alot of checks that prevent you from running any old one.

if you happen to know your most recent build number, that would be awsome. if not,are there any other numbers in hboot? it should also display the baseband, wich would help figure out what you have.

you can try running one of these 2:
RUU_PYRAMID_ICS_HTC_Europe_3.33.401.6_Radio_11.76A.3504.00U_11.24A.3504.31_M_release_266171_signed.exe - download now for free. File sharing. Software file sharing. Free file hosting. File upload. FileFactory.com

or

RUU_PYRAMID_LE_ICS_35_S_HTC_Europe_3.33.401.106_Radio_11.76A.3504.00U_11.24A.3504.31_M_release_266172_signed.exe - download now for free. File sharing. Software file sharing. Free file hosting. File upload. FileFactory.com

download, run as administrator. plug in your phone when prompted.

if they fail,we will have to run a couple adb commands to figure out your build number and cid. are you up for that? :)

By any chance are you on Vodaphone? And if so, are you located in the UK or elsewhere?
