I currently use the ZTE Merit, and I have a few questions. 1. My app space is limited, how do I improve it. 2. The battery life for my phone isn't good, is there a solution? 3. My phone just started posting "Network error, please check the network?"

I've tried other places to help with my questions, but this forum here seems to be better. Also, this phone is perfect for me other than the little annoyances posted above.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated, your phone dummy, Tim...

P.S. Straight talk costumer service is sketchy, I not good with heavy Indian accents. Lol

without root:
to save battery:

go to settings--accounts and sync--uncheck background data

use your task manager to kill apps after you get done using them.

keep your wireless and bluetooth off if you are not using them

i generally get 36 to 48 hours on a charge

without root:
to save space:

move all apps that will let you to the SD card

don't update stock apps

only update apps that can be deleted by uninstalling them and then downloading the new version from a free app market that is not google play [slideme market is the best]

with root:
to save battery:

do all of the above

get a free app killer--like advanced task killer free

remove your stock apps that you do not use

with root:
to save space:

do all of the above

also delete all stock apps that you don't use
