Root abcindicate

why pm this is only an opinion for people to reply this post is not for some in expecific

So, what you're saying is that you're looking forward to ABCindicate's ROM and you're just trying to generate speculation when it will be released? As others have said, it's generally rude to ask for ETAs. And speculation may not reflect reality.

However, let's keep things civil. There is no need to lash out at other members.

Well your original post, before it was changed, asked when abc's roms would be released. If your real intentions was an answer, it seems like the best place to get the answer is from is the source. Right? No one knows but them so asking everyone else doesn't answer your original question.

So my response was based on your original op. If your intentions were something else then that's different.

Judging by this response, it seems like we are supposed to guess and give "opinions", from which i really don't see what's achieved from that. But that's me. Regardless, i hope you get what you are searching for out of this.

oh wow another thread anyways im going to say this lightly the main leader of abc sent me a test rom/theme and i say this with respect but it wasnt their work i had few of the trusted members in here try it with me we all came to the same conclusion it was a nize theme and all but it wasnt built around their own work if u know what i mean, the rom the kernel was from idrifta's rom the theme was the only thing they made it was a window 7 theme which i liked and mike28 liked.Like fuzzy suggested if ur really curious about knowing anything from a outside source then ask the direct source we dont have a huge shiny crystal ball in af that tell us any eta.

i hate to be the one to say it... but i already know exactly where this thread is leading to.. and it's nowhere good...

why do these threads keep popping up after the many warnings and previous closed threads.. it's always the same people with the same things to say and the same thing always happens, i swear it's like high school all over again lol

my opinion about this is.. whether they were the first to actually put things together that way or not, it doesn't matter.. they ARE the first ones to deliver it to us as a use-able rom for the esteem and i actually like it to so im not complaining.. im actually gonna help them out tonight and add a few touch-ups of my own to it and see what they think ;)

hopefully it will be released to the public soon because i think it's a pretty sweet a** theme/rom lol

Normally I would PM what I'm about to say to you to explain my position, but I feel that it would probably be best to shine some light on it for everyone. If you're curious, hit the show button. It is quite off topic and I am trying to get the thread back on topic. If there is a need, I'll split the topic and we can discuss it there, or take it to Private Chat with Staff.

The problem is that the first post is 'innocent enough'. Meaning that, while it could be interpreted as a post that is trying to 'stir the pot' (as the expression goes - let's not use the T word), it can also be interpreted as a honest question. I do not know how much you, or anyone else that frequents this subforum, ventures out into other forums. However, there is a constant influx of new members to these forums. Some of them will know what they're talking about, a lot of them won't, and a very small number will become troublemakers. As a moderator, I cannot assume that one person is a troublemaker based on a few posts, unless they are blatantly spamming, posting warez, harassing members, or violating the other rules of the forum. When they are simply posting questions, I naturally assume that they are just a newbie who doesn't know forum etiquette. In this particular case, the OP edited his/her post to clarify his/her question, so it makes me believe that he/she is really just trying to ask a question and not cause trouble.

Also, we have a number of teenagers, and possibly even younger, joining these forums. And others are simply impatient. :) So while sometimes these threads can be annoying and degenerate into something the moderation team has to handle, there is a simple answer. Simply move on. No one is making you reply. If you do think that a person is attempting to 'stir the pot', don't let yourself get sucked in. Also, report the thread. Some of you did, and we thank you for that! However, reporting a thread doesn't mean that we're going to infract or ban someone because of it. We try to evaluate the entire situation and make a decision. Sometimes that is not an easy task, and we're human so sometimes we make bad calls or don't see the entire picture. Another thing is that there is an ignore option on the forums. You can get there by clicking this link: http://androidforums.com/profile.php?do=ignorelist

So, the TL;DR version: Report the thread, ignore them, or politely answer the question to the best of your ability.

I hope this clarifies things a bit and helps everyone understand why warnings and closed threads don't always lead to more drastic measures.

also jero i would to add the forum for many young teens have turned into a twitter or a facebook, meaning threads are being created purposely to state their thoughts opinion or frustration, which i will add isnt helpul,or contributive <---- is that a real word ? lol anways i think ya know what i mean. I guess either threads are made to share info ,help or ask for help if it dosnt fall into any of thos category then i consider it uneccessary.

I will also like to add ya mods have some hard core patience and im not being sarcastic it amazes me how cool and calm ya can be even when the forum is full of flame worthy members lol great job ya thats why no matter i could never be a mod on this forum, mind my name on here i truly live up to it :D

o i understand that completely lol, i know you cant just make decisions off assumptions, and i myself am guilty of getting caught in the mix a few times.. and i know the OP meant no harm when posting this, some people just dont know that saying 1 little thing can start a huuge debate and crate swarms of nasty defensive replies lol.. i honestly feel much better knowing ther a mod (GOD?) watching over this thread to keep it in check lol

me saying what i said could have easily started an uproar just as easy as the OP could have, so i genuinely feel a little guilt for that.. but im hoping people will read & realize that to open a thread clearly just to state opinions (arguments) in does us no-good and 9 times out of 10 leads to a nasty argument that eventually gets closed.. so then we are stuck with yet another closed/useless thread hogging up all the thread space in the forum making it harder to find something actually usefull with answers lol..

but im OCD, if it were up to me anything older than a year would be deleted hahaha (anything not full of great information)

i appreciate your reply & concern for "the people" makes me proud to be a member here at AF :D thank you!

Thank you all for your positive response to my explanation. I do want to correct one statement Idrifta made, though.

I do realize you're making a bit of a joke here, but we do not consider ourselves gods. We are members with additional responsibilities. Again, I know you made the comment in a playful manner. However, as you said, things can be misinterpreted and people sometimes run with harmless comments and they get out of control. :)

I'd have to agree with you on the mods, I've never seen anything bad come from them.
Very good code of conduct.
