Root [Boost Mobile] Problems with ICS signal bars in Roms

I've been noticing in roms with the ICS styled signal bars, It always says I have an optimal signal(full bars) or no signal, never anything in between. I know for a fact this can't be right because on stock, even moving through my house the bars would change on a constant basis. Even in zones that were near dead in my house with the stock bars, it will say I have a full signal with these custom roms.

Is anyone else having this issue?

Also has anyone else had issues receiving calls lately? I'm in the st louis area and my phone sent a pretty hefty amount of calls straight to voicemail or would just ring from the senders end while my phone does nothing. I plan on changing my prl soon, but if this is a reoccuring issue with boost I'm going to have to leave the service. They have one job, and if they can't even do that right there are plenty of other providers that can.

It works fine on my rom but I themed it manually.
