Root I just hard bricked my Admire!

Well i already rooted my phone with success and no problem, but then i wanted to try ROM Manager and i was too late to read that it isn't really compatible with the Samsung Admire.

there are two stickies right under the link to rooting that clearly say in the tittle that its not compatible and that it will brick it. i dont understand how people still brick their phone through rom manager... unless you got that warranty you're screwed man. there is no way back from a hard bricking from rom manager

People shouldn't use an app to manage their rom. It's just asking for trouble. Especially with how buggy rom manager is on some devices.

If you want to root, do everything manually from recovery. rom manager isn't able to save you when something goes wrong and your stuck in a bootloop, but being able to navigate recovery will.

Have you experienced a bricked phone? Have you fixed one?

well you said you cant get into download mode so that usually means thats you are out of luck. if it where it would continue to try to get into download mode without stopping until it somehow manage to do it, realize that it wouldnt work, or buy/make a jig with actually can make hard bricked phones go into download mode. i personally have never fixed a hard bricked phone but ive save mine from 1 and a half soft bricking. btw just to clarify recovery mode is volume down+power+back. download mode is firmly holding the camera button down for about 5 secs or more then while still doing the button plug in the charger which should be connect to the computer. i hate to be a downer though but rom manager is the kiss of death for many phone and there is really no return

so you're saying thats its still possible to get my hard bricked admire into download mode with a jig? if so can you send me a video or instructions on how to make a jig?

[guide] how to make your own usb jig / reset binary counter / remove yellow triangle - xda-developers
a jig has been reported to work with the admire so there is a possibility that it could work but its slight to near non existent. honestly its the best chance for you though. if it fails then that admire is down for the count

As i read through the guide, it only talks about soft bricking, so can it be for hard bricking too?
Amazon.com: Fix Download Mode USB Jig for Samsung I9000 Galaxy S (For All Samsung Android System; T959, I9000, I897, M110s, I8700, I9100, Etc): Computers & Accessories

Would that be the correct jig for my admire?

Someone can correct me if I am wrong but I think your getting soft brick and hard brick mixed up.

A Soft Brick means the device recoverable but might require some hoops
A Hard Brick means the device is Toast its now a paper weight

To me it would be cheaper and easier to just buy a new phone. One of the great things about the Admire is there 80bucks. I dont know if they would charge you to activate it. Think about all the time and trouble your going thought right now and compare it to the cost of a new phone.

its actually 99 right now. the cost of the admire is always changing. i bought mine at 120 sometime in july. my girlfirend but it at 70 way before that. and yes it know it says soft bricking but ive have made a jig for my friend who hard bricked his admire and it did worked for him. and ive seen videos with hard bricked samsung phones brought back by jigs. and usually with a soft brick you can get into download mode and recovery mode and thats been my experience with it. i would say atleast try the jig to see if it works. its only 50 cents on the amazon link or if you make one then its only like 5 bucks. if it were me id do that before dishing out 99 bucks with tax. or if you are under the 1 year warranty which i kinda assume you are not now you could go spend 10 for a replacement.
