Help Does this handset have an HDMI Jack? [Uses an MHL port. Video inside to explain for newcomers]

Hard to say.

Marctronixx and I show that with a proper MHL adapter and a native 1080p TV, 1080p works via MHL.

Clearly your TV is not in question.

But you also mentioned a problem with the international One X (Harry's phone for those that don't know) having a 1080p MHL issue.

Maybe you could try another adapter and the shop would let you return it if it's a One X software issue?

With my HTC Sensation connected to the HTC MHL, the TV shows 1080p !

So the question is, does my One X let serve the MHL only 720p or do this all One X generally ?

Could be a difference to the EVO 4G LTE ?
We may assume that the EVO 4G LTE with a MHL serves 1080p.

Edit: But dr g's EVO 4G LTE serves only 720p too  ... or his MHL ?

@harry,

i know Dr. G is off relaxing and is not as geeky as we are :D so EM and I are waiting for Dr. g to try this download and report his findings.

i think it could be his ebay adapter being an off brand mhl adapter that does not provide optimum performance--but that is just a guess at best.

what say ye dr. g (fun fact: thats What I call Dr. Sanjay Gupta when i get to work with him..:D)

Harry - you proved your TV negotiates 1080p, and that your adapter can negotiate and pass 1080p. That leaves the question of the phone difference.

I noticed in the clove.co.uk vid in post 4 that they got 720p @ 60 fps also.

Maybe this is something that will be addressed in a future update, of course, no telling on that.

I've tried every combination of settings that I can think of, including changing the default video recording resolution, and can't get 720p at 60 Hz via MHL.

Tried several 1080p movies. No luck on 1080 output, I think it wold need to be 1080 all the time regardless of the movie resolution, no?

I will say that Diceplayer is awesome though, really seems to leverage hardware acceleration well. I had some high bitrate mkvs I was trying on the stock player and rockplayer, and they all crapped out. Diceplayer ate it up.

Are there other alternative players to try or is Diceplayer IT?
