Root Can I unbrick it without usb?

Never could get dh usb connection working and there were still some errors on his phone, so i went into cwm, wiped data did a factory reset, formated and repartioned sd card, wiped dalvik cache and rebooted.

I was still having issues (can't remember what now, should have left well enough alone) went back into cwm and repeated steps, this time i wiped cache partition instead of dalvik. Oops, I don't think I was suppose to do that when I'm rooted. I'm too tired to be doing this apparently. But can't go to bed until I know his phone either works or is fried. (I do remember why i did this a 2nd time, i was trying to install Link2sd and it kept saying I was out of space)..

Keep trying usb anyhow, knowing computer doesn't see it....

Okay, so we had done backups of our phones on the computer. I don't know which files I need or if this can work, but can I copy these to sd card and restore through cwm? I tried copying file that says rooted prevail clockwork mod backup and doing this, but it said there was nothing to restore or something like that. Should I go in and select an individual file or is this another thing I can only do with the usb cable?

Really wanted him to hold off on getting a new phone until the Galaxy SII comes out or an Iphone on boost. And we just got down to $35 a month. figures.

Forgot to add, it's stuck on Samsung Prevail Boost Mobile Boot screen.

How do i flash a rom using my sd card? I only know enough to be dangerous ;)

You download the rom

Place it on the sdcard (you can use card reader and do it via pc)

Boot into recovery (cwm)

Select install zip from sdcard

Select choose zip from sdcard

Select the ROM

select yes

Press back

Select reboot system now

I'm still downloading half assed rom. Can't believe how slow my internet is. I'm only downloading at 21.3 kbs. (sprint aircards suck!)

I started looking on my computer for another rom,and I had 187ModHoneybread6, so i went ahead and installed it. (Never tried it before). It actually looks pretty cool!

And, THANK YOU!!! I actually got his phone to boot back up. Never would have thought of putting a rom on the sd cd... I really thought it was a goner for sure this time. :)

I'll let this finish downloading and I have another to try incase this doesn't work.

Sorry, this may sound like a dump question
So im using an Verizon S3 and IDK what half ass roms are.
and where can i download them
It'd be much appreciated

Half Ass Rom is a rom for the Galaxy Prevail. It's the stock rom formatted to work with the prevail's recovery. Unfortunately it isn't going to help.

The section for your device is here:

You're much more likely to get answers/solutions from others who own/are familiar with your device. :)

You might want to try ctmod for your prevail. It has quality speed and you should have no problem, halfassrom is a old version based rom on the prevail not to many people use it anymore.
