Gorilla Glass?? Seriously... We must have some pretty wimpy gorillas now a days. I was wiping off my screen today and noticed I have some small scuffs in my screen already. I have only had this thing for 10 days. If Verizon would exchange it for a new one, I think I might go exchange it. Then put a screen protector on my replacement. Kind of PO'ed, I shouldn't need a screen protector on a phone with "Gorilla Glass" I am very careful with this thing also... Hate to see if I wasn't..

Don't know how much this is worth, but when I bought my phone from Verizon the guy was saying the glass was not as scratch resistant as the original Motorola Droid (which I had before). I was originally not going to buy a protector because i told him i was able to wipe my car keys up and down my Motorola droid without scratching it, but he said it isn't the same type of glass on the HTC Incredible. So I ended up buying it...don't know if he was lying or not to get me to buy the overpriced piece of plastic, but I'm kind of glad I did now after reading this post.

I will not be thoroughly inspecting my screen. If I can't see them during normal use, they might as well not exist. No reason to find some and be annoyed.

I wasn't "thoroughly" inspecting my screen. I was just wiping it off with a microfiber cloth and thought I had a couple small smudges. Wiped it a bit and noticed, hey they aren't wiping off, they arn't smudges, they are scuffs. Anyway, put a zagg screen protector on it today so it doesn't get worse.

Update, not sure I am going to be able to take the orange peel look of this zagg screen protector on this beautiful Inc 4G screen. I had one on my Org Inc, but that screen just wasn't as beautiful as this screen. This zagg protector is taking away from having a phone with such a nice screen. Guess we'll give it a few days and see what I think. I do have the insurance on my phone so if it ever gets really bad, I could always just make a claim and get a new one...

I'm not going to go the screen protector way like I did on the original incredible. Air bubbles, scratches, corner pulling up, just a general pain. If this one gets so bad I can't stand it, (which it's not now) it should only cost about the same as three nice screen protectors installed to get a nice new glass. Sooooo, I'm going to keep that smoooooth feel for now.

Ya, that was what I was planning... I think I made a hasty decision... O well, when I take it off, I only wasted a few bucks... Actually it's a life time warranty, so I could tear it off, have them send me a new one and sell it on Ebay...;)

For some reason I seem to remember that the INC4G didn't come with gorilla glass but I could be confusing it with something else.

Fronted by a 4-inch qHD Super LCD display with Gorilla Glass, the INCREDIBLE 4G LTE has an 8-megapixel camera with 1080p HD video recording, a 1.2GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 chipset and runs Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich with HTC Sense 4

Anyway, I called BestBuy and they will allow you to return it up to 30 days for a full refund. So I am taking it back today. It gives the phone a horrible orange peel look and it is quite rubbery feeling.

I remember asking the Verizon guy about the glass when I bought mine..... his response was "well, it's not really Gorilla Glass even though it says it is!". Really? Isn't that like stupid "false" advertising????

Then again, I once saw an ad for AT&T about their unlimited data package and it had a footnote. If you could find the footnote and read it, you would find that " Unlimited was defined as only up to 5GB data ". DUH!! OXIMORON or WHAT???? How do they get away with crap like that?????

They get away with it because we "the consumer" continue to buy the devices no matter what they "say" they are or even how much the carriers continue to screw us... I am just as guilty as I bought this device, but that is why they keep getting away with it. I am sure there is some form or representation of the gorilla glass in it, so they can say it and cover their arse..

The screen protectors I use on my original DINC cost $0.65 on amazon and last months with a good install.

I had good luck with screen protectors for my OG Incredible, but the first set of them for the Incredible 4g didn't turn out so great. If you notice the glass is raised and my finger kept getting caught on the edge of the screen protector on a swipe-down. Plus there was an ugly bubble near the top, and I didn't like the cut-outs for the proximity sensor.

So I took it off. Although I do appreciate the smoothness of going bareback, it does make me a little nervous. The last thing I need is a scratch in this "Gorilla Glass."

Just wondering if anyone is having any of the same problems with their screen protectors, and if they can truly recommend one that addresses the issues I had?

The incredible 4g does not has gorilla glass. I dont understand why people would think it does, the entire phone has significantly lower quality than the last two versions. Proof being people getting scratches from simply whipping the screen clean. The glass on the inc4g is pure junk.

Corning, the maker of gorilla glass, disagrees with you. Corning
