Ok soooo for those of you developers that are on boost and looking for new projects The kernal source code for ICS on the HTC Evo Design 4G was recently released and the development community is picking up pretty quicky but however, i and many others would prefer to not be limited to just 1 person's work on there. Sooo here is my plead to possibly see some of you over on the other side, to me, with the recent releases, this phone is most definitely now worth the 300$ anyways here is the link to the new world EVO Design - All Things Root - Android Forums

Haha good to see you outsourcing to the Prevail. It'd be nice if KoumaJutsu decided to dink around on the Design, I like his work. What I would like to see is him working with 2Fast. I'm actually just starting to use my old Prevail to learn to work with ROMs and kernels. I feel like the Prevail is such an easy phone to flash with, that it'd be a great platform to learn on.

because newer stuff has come along, there are already 2 extremely stable roms for this phone, CTMod and (my personal favorite) HoneyBread (i only choose it over CTmod because of the update PRL and update profile features are still able to be used . I understand u still want a working Cm9 (or any other ICS build) but blame samsung. they never came out with ICS for the device, therefore there is no kernal source code to base drivers off of, coming to the conclusion that you are stuck with 2.3 (GB). Which you already have the best you could possibly have of... TBH devs are no longer needed for this device. however HTC Evo Design 4g still has alot of potential, fresh new product, recently released source code for ICS..

Why would they not? Their work here is done and they know it. Thats why you dont see newer roms. Because they've come to a standstill. there's nothing else to do for them

wouldn't you rather lose them to something that you might upgrade to in the future? which alot of people on this section will end up upgrading to once the development for it kicks up, (just started to considering we just got a CM9 build from 2fast4u88).. This devices development is now just limited to themes.. thats it..

Dominate the game? Since when this is a competition? One persons work? Feel free to install a development enviromemt and put some stuff out...

Yea ^ I seen that too. There is others work but the one, though I assume you are talking about the one person being me. Where to be honest it isn't my fault I'm the only one doing anything really, or should I say my team. I don't know your other pal's either but hopefully they aren't like last sammy crowd I was with.

well i had posted that thread before i saw that hoark and shabby are no longer there. any by "1 person" i was referring to your team, seeing as you are the only developers currently showing any progress with anything other than slight modifications to an already crappy rom (being the stock one). i feel as if im digging myself in a hole here. lol. I just hate pre-themed roms. lol. which is what most developers do. For instance thats pretty much all that there was for the prevail.

I guess everyone's desire and likes for roms vary. Personally theeming a Rom to me is a waste of time, because tastes are so varied and what u might like is not true to the other person. I tried theeming out a bit on IcedSpeed Rom beta. But everyone's opinions where so varied I just left the theeming to anyone who wanted to make flashable themes. I am not big on eye candy mostly because I am constantly going from project to project, and never stick with one release longer than a few weeks. Regardless, I think allot of devs spend their time mostly working in the code and features of a Rom and not the themes.

x2 ^ And I see where you are comming from, as nearly anyone can theme a rom. But to add features, increase speed and over all smoothness is another thing. I started out themeing roms and building source to better suit my needs. It has since moved to other better things, and theme work left to the end user.

+1 on this. THAT is what i like to hear . I cant wait to see how this CM9 comes out so i can ditch sense for good.. as soon as the front and rear camera's are working i'll gladly use it daily. i hateeeeeeee sense...

I can honestly say that after spending many, many hours just trying to get a build environment set up, learn all the little nuances of the different versions of Linux, not being able figure out why this stupid machine can't figure out what I am trying to tell it to do, and reading a ton of tutorials on how to this or that I have gained a whole new appreciation of my Windows XP installation disk.

With the last kernel release there are new things to mess around with without actually compiling the kernel. Here is a vdd_levels script I put together this mornind after testing the different frequencies at different levels of undervolting. I've been running these levels all day with no problems.

I have it set to run at boot in ROM toolbox....

Scripting is good I have used it in the past for this, but I like my antutu CPU master pro, easy painless graphical vdd changes on the fly

I have a question for you since you're on here...any thoughts on a way to script the speeds to a certain level (1.2ghz to 1.4ghz) for graphics intensive operations and only over that level for other CPU operations. There seems to be a drop off in performance at higher frequencies ...maybe some bottle necking ....

When you overclock it doesn't just overclock the cpu, it also does the gpu and ram. There should be no bottle necking though. If anything the clock you are on is unstable.
