I have my mind set on getting an android phone, and im picking from the G1, and the mytouch. But i really cant decide!:(

Now if anyone out there has had both, give me your thoughts and opinions! (please)

I love the keyboard on the G1, but the mytouch is alittle faster, and over all a nicer device (cosmetically).

But you guys have actually owned one, so i want your opinions!

Thanks:D

personally I need the physical keyboard and with all the rooted builds out there speed, performance and abilities can be greatly improved on the G1

I would get the myTouch (I decided to wait and glad I did).

Look at it this way:

the T-mobile myTouch is GSM based so you can move the SIM to any T-mobile phone or unlocked phone supported on the T-Mobile network.

What this means is you can get the myTouch discounted for $200 bucks of you do the 2 year thing.

The G1's are dropping in price on the used market -- I have seen them as cheap as $125.

Now, I am going to pick up a used G1 for development and rooting... but the myTouch will remain "stock".

Also, remember, the myTouch as 512MB of flash while the G1 only has 256MB. It is likely Doughnut will be the last major release for the G1 by the end of the year.

Both phones are exceptional, ive owned both. It really just comes down to the use of a touch screen keyboard. Have you played with a myTouch? if you have no problem texting on one then i would go with it, because its a bit faster/sexier.

Well at the moment, i have an all touchscreen phone, the Dare, and i just like the feel of some tactile movement, and because i have a resistive screen i can feel the actual push on the keys. I have played with both of the phones. And i have noticed that the MyTouch is like a millisecond faster. I really hate choices. I love physical Keyboards, but i can live without them. I really wish HTC made another Hero, one with a keyboard. That would rock:cool:
