I know the Galaxy S3 just came out, but I'm curious what you all think the S4 might have. Will it have a true quad-core? What other features?
I posted here earlier about a good offer about buying an S3. I think I'll wait. I have an iPhone 4, which is a great phone and the longer I wait, the better phone I'll get when upgrading. I'm sure some people are the same way.
Maybe a higher res camera, better screen resolution, a little faster speed, more phone colors.
Key Lime Pie will be out by then and who knows what Android will deliver with that. More fun stuff with NFC and Android Beam, I imagine. Jellybean is already so polished people are having trouble finding things to wish for.
The patent lawsuits should settle down by then so we'll probably see a workaround to give us back full voice control of the phone.
I can't see the phone getting any larger. Otherwise they move into Galaxy Note territory.
Better battery life to match the Razr Maxx.
Everyone's waiting to see what Apple has up its sleeve. So far the leaks have not thrilled anyone. iPhone5 seems to be playing features catch-up (4" screen, NFC, LTE antenna) while trading on their existing unique features (retina display, Siri voice control). The changing dock connector could ruffle feathers or be translated into a new feature set.
Smartphones are beginning to level off in their features now. App dev is reaching parity. The demands now are on processors for advanced gaming and longer lasting batteries. The growth sector I expect to see next is in the tablet sphere. I'm mostly interested in the windowing possibilities of the Galaxy Note 10.1. Being able to see two apps at once makes for much better productivity. I expect Samsung will be concentrating on developing their OS tweaks for the Note brand while just offering slight upgrades to the Galaxy. Perhaps the boys at Google will get into the game as well.
If you're a happy iPhone user, it won't hurt you to wait until October to decide. By then you'll be able to do a side-by-side comparison and discover which phone (hardware and software) works best for you.
