V6 Supercharger instructions

As an added bonus, V6 Supercharger has been built INTO the ROM. The supercharger will always be activated, but due to some technicalities, not all the activated in Altous. If you would like to use the full version of v6, Navigate to the v6 folder using a Terminal Emulator, and Run v6.sh.

Clarification of Droid Beats Software

Droid beats does not include any visual settings of any kind. Droid beats only changes the way the system registers the sounds, adding more bass and a bit more treble. The Droid Beats included in Altonus is 100% compatible with DSP Manager, in essence, they are designed to work one on one with each other. Use DSP manager to edit your sound. Don't report beats as a bug. Thanks!

v2 HAS A NEW GUI FOR BEATS

2 Choices Between Boot Animations

The boot animation has now been enabled, yet some boot animations WILL CAUSE BOOTLOOPS, so know what you are doing before you flash/move stuff. Two well working boot animations are the Jelly Bean animations, and the CM9. Both are available for download here:

The download for the Jelly Bean Boot animation is available here:
jbbootanimation.zip

The download for the CM9 Boot animation is available here
bootanimation.zip

The Downloads for the custom Boot Logos are available here (Replace the "M"). Flash these using RFD Lite

Installed per directions, so far so good. It seemed to lock up / reboot the first time the setup screen came up. So far I have connected to wifi, and tweaked a few performance settings.

So far so good!

Guys thank you SO much for your support! Be sure to PM me with any other bugs etc! OTA updates are available thru ROM Manager ;)

I haven't tweaked anything yet, as it was very late. However, question:

I flashed EXACTLY as described, but when it booted there were almost NO GApps installed. I assume that this is by default b/c of the D1's limited ROM space?

Other than that I was tickled pink to see virtually the same CM9 that i was running on my BIONIC just a few short months ago. Surprisingly enough, i think that ICS looks better with the default stock Android font that is on our D1s than the stock font used on the BIONIC.

AWESOME work! Donation coming as soon as I can afford it :p

Thanks alot! I deleted some of the gapps for the zip for that exact reason (they only include market as every time I added it into the rom I would get a boot loop). If you feel I should add them I can lol. The font is called Sony Sketch if you like it. Thanks for the donation by the way. I greatly appreciate it.

Lol, i actually thought it was the default Android font. /me likey.

Haven't donated yet, will be at least a couple of weeks, have to pay this semester's tuition today. Also, won't be from this name, but my real name, but I'll try to be creative with the amount so you'll know it is me.

I know that for a while a few of the ROMs for the D1 used the "official" Android font (Bugless Beast and Black Droid's ROMs come to mind), but this is a smashingly cool font. I might try flashing it on my BIONIC just for S&Gs :p

Going to try to setup my D1 to use SIP Droid, since it is not activated anymore. Google Voice now tries to verify the phone number on the phone during setup, and since it does not have one, it fails every time. SIGH.

I set mine up using a home phone (online on pc) then I chose that number during the phone setup, just don't forget to turn off "via text messaging app" in the settings or the texts will be sent the the wrong number lol (well wrong phone right number) and to call I use GrooveIP

Your download links are down right now :( But can't wait to check this out at as well... got ahead of myself and tried your jellybeaner first! :p

I was able to retrieve the latest version on ROM manager but didn't get the GApps for it.. hmm.. now I guess I will have to push some apps to the phone through ADB to get some more access.. so far this looks great though!! Thanks!

Update: Instead of a double post..

So I have loaded v2 from ROM Manager. I have GApps and Supercharge flashed as well. I'm not an expert, but you mentioned for v2 that we would not need to start the Supercharger through terminal.. is this still in effect or will we need to still do it? I have the slightest idea on how to tell if it is running or not.. (hint hint). Seem to be having a little trouble with the browser functioning properly... I am currently only using the wifi for networking.. I don't have this phone activated so not sure if there are any problems there... I also formatted my SD card via CMRecovery as you mentioned... does this natively install and run from the SDExt if there is one available? If not what steps do we need to take to do it? Does it also install apps to the SD card natively?

Sorry for all the questions... just trying to get a feel of this ROM... you are definitely amazing! I would have never believed ICS or JB would've ran nearly this smooth for the OG Droid.. you will definitely be getting some sort of donation from me once I get my first paycheck or 2 from my new job... I have currently been out of work for 6 months... but WOW! You are incredibly talented amigo! ;)

Thanks for all your hard work and good luck in your school classes... I am sure you will be doing well!

For v2, use terminal emulator to find it in /system, no need to flash the supercharger... I am making a v2.5 that will load the files automatically, but im having some trouble with some of the files, so that will need to wait a lil bit, but I've tried to get it to run as smooth as possible. And I'm glad people are likin the roms! I passed 1k Downloads WOOT WOOT! lol

ohh and sorry gapps are all the same for all versions, unless otherwise specified. Btw, I meant to format thru the system menu once the rom was installed, but it's all gud, now your sd card is being used as ram, if you don't want it to be used that way, PM me and I'll get you back up and running without loosing your info.

I'm completely new to ROM's and I feel like an idiot.

I read the instructions:

Installation Instuctions
[/B][/I]STEP 1) Download the files above.
STEP 2) Boot into clockwork mod
STEP 3) Wipe DALVIK, CACHE, DATA/FACTORY RESET and BOOT IMAGE
STEP 4) Flash ALTONUS!

STEP 6) WIPE DALVIK and CACHE
STEP 7) Flash ALTONUS GAPPS!
STEP 8) Reboot Recovery
STEP 9) WIPE DALVIK and CACHE
STEP 10) Install supercharger
STEP 11) Reboot into ALTONUS!
STEP 12) Choose your boot animation (See Post 4)
STEP 13)Format your SD Card thru the system menu, or else the ROM will not read it! (not necessary for v2+)

I look at "STEP 2) Boot into clockwork mod". It makes no sense to me.

I search the "Motorola Droid- All Things Root Guide" thread and I find this:

http://androidforums.com/droid-roms/118513-how-install-custom-rom.html

which contains:

How to Install a custom rom with Clockworkmod Recovery

1.) Download the rom
2.) Put the file anywhere on your sdcard.
3.) Power off your droid
4.) Boot into recovery by holding X while powering on the phone
5.) Perform a nandroid backup (always sound practice although this is not required)
6.) Wipe data/factory reset (Again not required all the time but unless you are sure it will work without wiping its smart to do so.)(This also wipes your cache partition so no reason to do that as well.)
7.) Press install zip from sdcard
8.) Press Choose zip from sd card
9.) Navigate to the file and click on it.
10.) When the install is complete press the power button to get back to the main menu
11.) Reboot

I put altonusv2.zip in the top level of my SD card. I powered off. I powered back on while pressing X. I get a white triangle with an orange exclamation point next to a picture of a Droid phone.

It's completely unresponsive. Waited 10 minutes. I finally powered off. At least the power button works if I hold it long enough.

I haven't used this phone in almost a year. It's running 2.2.3 FRK76. I don't think I ever rooted it. WiFi only obviously.

Clearly, I missed something. Help!

First, your going to need to download your USB drivers available here

Next, you wanna download SuperOneClick

Run superoneclick and root your phone

Then, download ROM MANAGER from the Play Store (or android store)

Then open it and press Flash ClockworkMod Recovery.

It should flash it and now your ready to reboot and Install Altonus. Happy Romming!
