Hello,
my wife's LG spectrum which was rooted and running the BrokenOut Eclipse custom rom stopped running this morning and I tried getting back to the stock rom by doing the factory reset and delvik cache wipe etc etc etc and it keeps booting to CWM. Since i couldn't get back to the stock rom i tried loading back the custom one and it says that there are no files on her SD card and i can't connect it to the computer to reload the rom kernels and files to get her going again.
if I'm making a thread that already exists then please direct me to the proper thread, if not then please give me some assistance.

thanks very much

i would do that if my motorola razr wasn't plagued with the black screen of death xD. anyways i got it back to the broken out rom but i still can't get it back to stock or haven't tried yet anyways

You didnt get it back to stock because according to what you said in your first post you aren't doing it right. we have two methods for returning to stock and neither of them tell you to do a factory reset.

Since you have CWM on your phone make sure to do a backup in CWM and after having done that, follow the return to stock by CWM method instructions and you will be fine.

The thread for returning to stock with CWM is found here: http://androidforums.com/spectrum-a...re-v4-v6-verizon-stock-only-cwm-recovery.html

^ nail on the head there. Data, cache and dalvik only wipe the rom to activation status. You'd have to restore a stock nandroid or use the all in one tool to restore stock. Of course, you'll need the bootloop zip for that cwm issue... I always keep it on my phone and sd card in case one craps out, I've got the other.

Could also get the new cwm that had the fix built into it.

now since i want to go back to 100% no root stock *because her phone's screen cracked when it fell on pavement and i don't want any traces of root found on her phone when i take it to verizon* which version is recommended or how do i find the version to use? i.e v4 or v6? do i download and copy both into the card and try both or one at a time on the card?

You really shouldn't even root a phone because for one everything you need is on the forums here, and is easy to find if you take a few minutes to look, and two I posted the link for you that has links to everything you need! Obviously you didn't even look at it.

So frustrating.....

use the v6 as it is the most current version, and the link imucarmen posted has all the directions, read them very carefully mulitple times. if you have issues post your questions in that thread please.

Broken Out fixed his issue with the bootloop because mt built the fix into his flash process.

kind of, MT included the zip file in his rom. that will only recify the bootloop if you reflash the rom everytime you use the button combo to enter cwm. The bootloop fix zip file has to be flashed ANY time the button combo is used to enter cwm ( obviously with the older version of cwm). PlayfulGod's version has the bootloop issue fixed and can be used with the button combo at will.

i think he looked at the link, but didnt really read or didnt understand what he read. he was asking if it would be better to return to v4 or v6 ( which is a given to me). In some shared frustration though i do under stand where is it coming from because of the lack of research done. Everybody wants everything spoon fed to them sometimes.

1st: yes i did read very carefully on the instructions posted in the link by imucarmen and I'm equally as frustrated as everyone who's even remotely tried to help.

2nd: I only rooted the phones (razr and spectrum) to better work with the phone. i never touched any bloatware or removed any important stock apps to freeze the phone. only thing to the spectrum i did for my wife was just put the broken out rom on so that she wouldn't be stuck on GB for a while.

3rd: I didn't create this thread as a medium to be chewed out nor requested everything to be spoon fed to me or handed on a silver platter. all i asked was to be pointed in the right direction to get the situation fixed for the spectrum and that was that.

now if anyone else will like to continue berating me saying that I don't follow instructions or the such don't.
thanks for the help
