What's new, right?.?.?

I have been having internet problems with my 3 phones. Trouble has been for the past 6-8 months. I've called in May and July. Both times I was told they would send a ticket into tech support. I never received a call back. They keep saying there is network upgrades in the area. Can this go on for 6-8+ months? I pay a LOT of money every month for phone service for my business. At this point, I'm getting pretty tired of struggling to get internet or dropping calls. I asked for a possible completetion date on these 'upgrades' and they said they didnt know. Is there anyone else beyond the first line of customer service reps I can speak with? My entire family of in-laws are with Verizon and have no trouble at all. This is affecting my business (we are a business account FYI). I get that feeling that the CSR's are just reading from a cue-card. I've done all the PRL/Profile updates, restarts, re-syncs, etc.... Even rooted and nothing has changed. Paid the extra $10 on two phones and never once was able to make a 4G connection. I'm pretty upset about all of this and they dont see to care.

What should/can I do?

</rant> Please help!! Taking my Prozac now..... lol

I've had the same issue since March...
changed my prl to a Verizon prl and Voila! Good signal.
Dont use data much and have as yet to receive a nasty letter from Sprint.
If you are rooted you can change your prl....many to choose from.
If you are on a sense rom, its easy....If you are on AOSP rom, you need to nandroid backup your current setup, flash a sense rom, change prl, then nand back to your oe setup

please tell this dummy how to flash to the VZW PRL!!!!!

I will love you long time!
o.k...first you will need msl reader from the market. That number will be your "password"
Download this prl and put in on root of sd card (root meaning top, or not in any folder of sd card)
This will only work in a sense rom
Go to phone dialer...dial ##775#
It will prompt you for your password (your msl #)
Enter that number and click ok.
Select update prl
Choose the 00002 prl that shows up.
Hit menu, then commit modifications.
Phone will auto reboot...if not reboot it yourself.
To check if it stuck---
hit menu/settings/about phone/software info.
At the bottom it should say prl 00002.
If that prl does not work, I have another one.
:D

Edit: saw your edit about mikg...that will work...
Edit again: just be aware of using too much data on VZW as Sprint sees that as roaming then you get a "nice" letter about too much roaming. I've heard of people getting a warning first and others getting the boot right away. So, I think of it this way, "Listen Sprint, your signal sucks and I had to do something about it."

oh, and one more thing I've found....occasionally, and I dont know why, your prl might auto update. You'll know when your signal gets crappy and you battery life suffers as it searches for a signal. My boss's phone, he's on MikG, does that sometimes but he just switches it back.
I am on an AOSP rom and its impossible for my prl to auto update.
Just an FYI.

Be careful though I haven't done this but in my house I'm almost always roaming due to crappy sprint signal and yesterday received the roaming warning letter lol

Just curious, how long did that take from prl change to lovely letter?
I realize it's dependant on roaming usage but.....

Hi I have Evo 4G. My frind had rooted it for me. I was trying to install custom rom using boot manager. I screwed up somewhere and accidentally hit yes when it asked me to do OTA update. Now it says my phone is not rooted. Is there any way to go back to being rooted? or am i forever stuck? I am sorry I am not really tech savvy, but can follow directions. Thanks in advance

I've never taken an ota before while rooted and it could be possible to restore if you did a nandroid prior but if not you'll need your friend to reroot your phone

Edit: ota probably killed your custom recovery so only way is to re root
