Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0??

Is there any kind developer to build an ICS ROM for LG c710h, please? it has a better specs than the LG P500 Optimus One, the P500 now can run on Jelly Bean 4.1 smoothly :(

Someone helps us please!

There was an attempt to get Cyanogenmod 7 on our phones done by Jiilik, but he eventually abandonned the project. I can do quick mods to existing ROMs, but do not have the skills nor the hardware to do any coding... So your safest bet would be to try and do it yourself, maybe by porting another ROM. The P500 has very similar specs, same as the ZTE blade... A port might be able to be done with the proper skills. I'm pretty happy with Gingerbread and our v20B ROM as it is, so I won't be looking into it.

Yeah, sorry I gave up so easily. On a related note, my gf has an HTC Wildfire S which shares the same processor and such, but less memory. It can run ICS/jellybean well enough. I did a little reading on it and it turns out that our processor is an ARMv6 chip, and ICS is designed for ARMv7. There's apparently quite a bit of hackery involved in getting it to work, but it's possible.

If someone was interested, the best idea would be to get AOSP or CM7 working on the phone first. The kernel wouldn't even really need that many if any changes... it's just building the userspace stuff and making sure all the drivers get turned on at boot and such.

Maybe I'll try again in a few months when my schedule clears up.

Yeah, getting CM7 to work code wise isn't my cup of tea TBH... I've seen some ICS ROMs on alot of lower end phones like ours and they do run, although it's nothing like some of the dual/quad core behemoths on the market now. ;) I've done some porting efforts though. I got it to boot ADB, can query the logcat and demsg + echo last_kmsg, but I can't be sure which driver snags when it comes to boot... Might not work, but it's fun to try! :D

If anyone is just looking for the look of ICS, Holo launcher is a good start I've found and it's not that big of a memory hog. Only about 1.69mb I think. Anyway just if you guys are curious or wanting just the look and kind of a neat little launcher.

Yeah, you have a few launchers to get part of the ICS "feel"... There's also a way to theme the phone to get the ICS feel. The advantage of ICS is also in its inner workings and menu modifications. This you won't end up getting with a new launcher, sadly...

Our phones run well enough with Gingerbread I think.

***EDIT*** Tried making an ICS theme for you guys, failed. Doesn't boot. ;) hahah

Will try and figure out why and upload it if it works out!

Ya i know the operations won't be the same, just if people were just searching for the looks.

I actually got a working theme going. I have ICS-Like color + icons... Holo Launcher and Holo Locker, so similar to ICS interface... I still have a few tweaks to do like transparent notification background, integrate the extended power menu tweak from jparasite and maybe import official ICS icons into the ROM... But overall, I could release something next week for people who want the ICS look without the feel. ;)

***EDIT*** Forgot to mention, found a tweak to make the notification bar transparent... Really slick!
