Hello All,

I'd like to introduce the Supernexus Jelly Bean Rom created by Faryaarb over on XDA

After being wowed by my old Neat Rom Lite V1.2 I thought with Sale going on holiday I'd look for something else to play with. I'm pretty darn glad I did.

I stumbled across this absolute beauty after initially intending to go for Cyanogen Mod 10, I read the reviews of the Supernexus Jelly Bean Rom and the feedback was really positive.

So, using the latest Siyah 4.01 release I made a Backup of my daily Rom then transferred it as my secondary Rom. A full wipe, data and cache, on my primary before the install was a must.

After install a nice Galaxy Nexus Screen welcomed me and a few moments later I was up and running. The first thing I noticed was the slick Jelly Bean animations when opening and closing apps. It's not Buttery Smooth but it's certainly not far away.

This Rom is pretty bare (its supposed to be) with things such as quick toggles in the notification bar missing but there are apps in the market to help you along and, hopefully, in the comments following this topic if people are interested enough

Anyway, I thought the best way to describe this Rom would be to record a video. If you think there is a slight lag then that is definitely not the Rom its the excellent app I recorded the video with (screencast)

So

Hopefully that tickles some of your fancy. I wasn't sure what people would want to see so it's just a little taster. I have had no problems whatsoever with this Rom its a joy. Put it this way I have just deleted my second Rom....

All tweaks for battery can be made through ex tweaks. All Google apps work flawlessly. I've had the the Supernexus Rom on for 3days now and no complaints.. One thing I did do was was install Apex as the Stock Rom Launcher just lacked a few features but this is AOKP.

I'll post the content of the Rom and the link to the thread now....

Ill come back and edit this post properly soon as I'm doing this on talpatalk

Hope you guys enjoy.. It's worth it

UPDATE 1
Ok so Ive let my batteery run to zero a few times and last night was the first night I tested the Deep Sleep. As you can see the results are pretty impressive for a Jelly Bean Rom....I could have made this better if I had turned of my data connection

UPDATE 2
OK so as you can see from above I started the day pretty early and have used my phone as normal. I would say I'm a moderate user during the day...... Not bad I think you'll find

As long as my phone lasts 9-5 I'm usually happy so this is very pleasing for a Jelly Bean Rom.... Obviously a lot of credit would also have to go to Gok for his Siyah but as you can see it does work as a daily Rom

I stumbled across a zip file on XDA and just went for it... Ill try and find the link for you.

Yeah really pleased with the battery life. It's the same as my last ICS Rom. As long as it gets me through a days shift in work I'm happy.

I'll post back with the link to beats audio if I can find it again mate

Cheers

There you go mate, can I just say that this edits the drivers on your phone so I recommend a back up 100% I'm not sure how much difference it makes I didn't test before I installed it.

Also I feel my headphone audio is a little quieter than normal but I'm not sure if that's my senheiser headphones on the way out or my phone...

Make a back up then flash this and you will be fine... Even if it's just to look like a badass with the logo in your notification bar ha

It is a new music product that is supposed to offer a more high definition sound to your music. Ideally you would need to have the Beats Headphones to go along with it. I think the HTC One came packaged with it included.

Some say its a gimmik, some say you can reproduce the effects by using the equalisers in Poweramp for example.

Me, I just think its cool as sh*t telling people I have Dr Dre Beats Audio on my Jelly bean Galaxy S2

As Ive said above mate, make sure you do a back up as this changes the drivers in your phone and when you run through the set up, it tells you not to uninstall.

Its not an app as such, you cannot access it and change settings, once installed you cant change it. Ive heard uninstalling may cause problems but I cannot confirm that.

Im not an expert on the Beats App but I can find you a link to more information when I get home from work my friend.

Until then I would hold on.

i tried the resurrection rom aokp JB, it was impressively smooth, but had some flaws which made me go back to Neat.

1. if you got an sms when listening to music, music stops

2. no way to change lockscreen wallpaper (without third party widgetlocker etc)

3. internal and external SD's are changed to SD0/1 so its useless with the likes of isyncr.

4. battery life was ok, but def below par of AOSP ICS.

any testers of *supernexus" have any of the above issues?

All right mate let's have a look

1. Music stops and the notification sound comes through but then it restarts

2. I can't see a way in the settings menu to change the lock screen wallpaper but ive never done it that way on any Rom, ive always used Quickpic

3. Yes mate you are correct the SD Card is changed to SD01 etc

4. Battery has been fine for me. Admittedly I turn auto sync off for large parts of the day.... And I don't have as many apps downloaded since I wiped to install this so maybe that is helping. Good battery life for me is lasting 9-5 with having about 50%left. Obviously this changes for other people.

I've tried Resurrection Remix and in my opinion this is much better. If there's anything else you would like to know mate fire away

Just wondering how is this rom compared to CM10? Especially battery life?

Also, assuming it's based on CM10, do I have to full wipe?

A full wipe is recommended yes, transferring your normal Rom to use as a secondary Rom makes this a lot simpler.. All you do is reboot to recovery... Go to dual boot options... Copy 1st Rom to 2nd then after about 5 minutes it will copy over, then go back to the first menu in recovery then do a full wipe.. I've found If you boot up your second Rom all your data is still there.

Battery is good for me using Ironass's battery saving tips and changed the kernel mode to battery in extweaks

I can't compare to CM10 sorry I've never installed it

So a "sort of" review is meant to be unbiased yes?

Well today I've had a couple of apps force close, GO SMS, Stock Browser, and Google Maps.. A quick wipe of dalvik cache fixes this. The audio volume is also too low, I fully understand that there may be issues like this installing a Rom that is based on something that isn't even released for the SGS3..

It's still my daily Rom and I really like it, it is fantastic. But what's the point of a review if all you do is talk about the good things.

These issues are mentioned in the FAQ and are known, I just havent experienced them until today.

I'm really looking forward to build 3 as I'm sure these niggles will be sorted.

Still no denying the class of this Rom its genuinely superb.

If you compare the views and comments to this Rom and Resurrection Rom, it's amazing how under appreciated this Rom is, it is absolute dynamite if you want Jelly Bean

How long does a reboot take- 60 seconds? I can deal with that

I love this rom. Alot more so than CM. I have been using it for a week now. Although i do not get the battery life shown but i think thats a hardware issue with my phone as i get poor batt life regardless. Although it isnt smooth i get the odd freeze i find it still smoother than ISC official. Cant wait for the newer builds. I would recommend this to anyone looking to flash a JB rom

Hi, Im not the big of a techy person. I find that it runs so much better. When I had Cm installed i had the overheating issue constantly even with the phone on standby. I had alot of crashing with like facebook etc. CM kept randomly inverting my colours i had to keep restarting the phone and this was me NOT selecting the option in the menu. I use stock browser. Im sure the Tab bar does disappear. The jelly bean animations are great notifications are brilliant. I can read full text messages etc. and Google Now is brilliant i dont even use the google site anymore.

I came from CM9 btw so not tried CM10 sorry should have mentioned that.
