I have had an android htc from AT&T for 1-1/2 years. He was a happy little fellow:). Suddenly I had a gmail log-in problem on my PC and iPad. After fixing it my phone said it needed syncing. I thought I could delete one of my 2 accounts but it wouldn't let me. Sync said it wasn't working, wait until later and try again (4 days ago). Finally I got a message across my screen saying my emails would appear shortly (3days ago). Help. What's up with sync?:(

Hello Sharmax, welcome to the forums.

Sorry it's under these circumstances though. Did maybe the passwords get changed or something, that could cause issues... Other than that, I'm not quite sure.

I guess it might be important, are you doing this over wifi or your cell network.
> If the cell network, are you getting good signal? I'm guessing it's not this.
> If wifi, are you experiencing any other networking issues (can't get to http://www.gmail.com from the pc or something?)... I was thinking that *maybe* it was some DNS thing...

Anyway, good luck, and hope you get it sorted out.

Thanks. Yes I had had to change my passwords. It finally synced! Now I'm just getting the message "emails will appear shortly" (5 days later)

Hey Sharmax, so you changed the password via the PC... then changed the password on your phone. The phone then synced to the Gmail account, but won't actually pull in emails.... odd..

Here's what I'd do, I'd make a new gmail account. Sync that. Then unsync the other account and remove it. Then add the real account and remove the old one. Maybe it just needs to be removed once.

Or, if you're up for it, you could try to do a factory data reset... but that'll get rid of your apps and messages and the sort. If you do that, I'd back up any text messages with an app such as SMS backup & restore.

Good luck, sorry this is getting to you nearly 12 hours after your post... I'm a night owl, what can I say ;)

Hope this helps!

Unfortunately when I tried deleting the first account I had on my phone (but never used) it told me I would have to go back to original factory settings. I had to make another gmail account to retrieve my passwords so I do have one. I may go to AT&T but I'm almost afraid to do that since I'm not always sure of their technical ability!

Hurray! Magic! My Android is once again a happy little fellow. I went into setup to see what was in there because settings wasn't helping, noticed that even though my new account had been added in settings it wasn't in setup. I entered it. I have no idea if this did the trick but within about 2 minutes it was up and running. I don't have to go to AT&T. (Whew!)
Thanks for all your help. You gave me some ideas even if indirectly.
