[Verizon] [ROM] Codename Android for JB (updated 10/2)

Codename tweeted that 3.3 is coming along nicely.
Can't wait!

I have to wonder what else he can possibly squeeze into this ROM that isn't already here!

The only thing I can think of - and I have mentioned it - is WAYYY back in the Froyo days, TheUltimateDroid for the OG had an option to adjust the notification text colors. If I could tweak that to ICS blue, I think my flashing days will be behind me.

Well, at least until 3.4 comes out

For those of you who may be curious:

After allowing franco 241 to "settle in", I am mixed about the results. I went from full charge to 13% battery in 6.5 hours on my extended battery.

Granted, I had some phone calls, did some texting and browsing, and about half that time I was streaming Google Play Music to my BT headset. 95% of the time the CPU was either at 350MHz or deep sleep. Wifi & 4G were about 50/50.

Now you can see why I need to stay near a charger!

I would be interested in hearing your results on various kernels. I know that kernels are very phone-specific, and mileage WILL vary from one device to another. But if I can squeeze some more battery life out of this phone, I can try anything :)

I've found an issue, at least on my phone. When trying to choose the camera from my lock screen, it comes up with nothing. Gonna fool around and see what I can do.

Edit:
Jeez, that was easy. Just went into Settings, interface, lock screen, blah blah and re selected the spot for the camera and then hit applications and then camera. Even though the camera icon was in its proper spot to the far left of the lock screen, it wasn't actually the camera that was selected. DONE and done.

Who wants wake on touch? :D

Wake on touch is where the screen has just blanked and you have up to 90 seconds to wake it by just touching the screen. I love that, plus wake with volume controls. I don't like to wear out the most important button. :D

The stock kernel has some GlaDOS parts in it and I was able to get wake on touch to work by installing eXperience from market.

To configure it, open eXperience and tap to install the module (top option), then long press it to set it to boot. Then turn on TouchWake and again, long press on it to set at boot. Then change the delay to whatever you want. I have it set to 90... the max.

Obviously you only want have it set on boot, when you know it works. Try this on a different kernel or different device at your own risk.

Don't install on 3.3.0 tho... different kernel.

Anyone know how to find the MD5 sum for this or any ROM for that matter. I DL it and have it sitting on my laptop, but before I send it to my phone and flash I want to be sure all is good. Thanks.

I don't know where you can find the md5 for this Rom to verify, but when you can find it listed I just use es file explorer to verify the md5 matches.

Yes, I think that was my question. I have a few tools now to find the sum of the DL itself thanks to many people here, but I was wondering where to find it written on a site or something to verify. Because that is what you are supposed to do, right? Use one of those tools to see the checksum of what you have and then cross reference it with an original posted somewhere???

I think the best we can do as far as checking MD5 sums is to compare what we all get. If we all get the same sum, pretty safe bet it's a good download.

Astro calculates MD5s. Long press the file name and select "details". MD5 will be displayed once it's calculated.

Off to do some downloading! :D

Yes, good call. I took the plunge and flashed it. It is so sweet. I was just texting a sibling about how much I love this phone and this ROM.
