Root Why messaging SUDDENLY stopped working?

In the midst of texting with my sister, I hit 'send' on my last text and it WILL NOT send!!!!

I have been using Handcent for some time WITHOUT problems so I doubt it's a Handcent specific issue. When I tried to use the stock messaging app, it does the same damn thing...just sits there winding up but NEVER sends. Any suggestions?

Back at my house now after being gone an hour or so I started getting notifications (in multiples - like 2-3 at a time) and I began to send and receive calls. Got back home - damn thing is acting up again!

I had called Splint I mean Sprint and they said there didn't appear to be anything wrong on their end (of COURSE!) but that I might want to try pulling the battery (which I did). Think maybe I ought to call them again to let them know the latest? Hmmmmm...

Yes, all a sudden - in midst of a text thread with my sister this morning.

No, I've not flashed a kernel or anything else. I have just re-wiped and did a fix permissions and letting it settle for a few minutes....

May have to reflash ROM as you said...I'll report back in a little bit.

just an fyi they might have you do some qpst codes and you can't do that on aosp so you may have to flash a sense rom.

Yeah, you're right..

I thought that IF I end up taking it in, I am going to be straight up with them up front -"This is a rooted phone....and I'm fixing to LEAVE Splint I mean Sprint next month blah blah blah...".

I'm getting to the point that I may as well go ahead and get on over to VZ with the wifey and get that new phone...hmmmm!

Should I do a thorough wipe if I am going to re-flash my existing ROM? Or just cache/dalvik cache?

What about going into manage apps and clearing cache and data first for handcent and the stock messaging app.?

There's my buddy!!! Figgered you must be really tied up today since you weren't chiming in here on this fiasco with my stupid phone !

I think I did do that earlier but think it's gonna take a re-flash to get it going again. What's got me stumped is my phone isn't able to get or send calls either. My emails keep coming in but simply nothing with phone and messaging...

Help!

PS: I was just about to pull the trigger on wiping everything and starting over...then I saw your post!

Cannot receive or send calls....my question would be--Do you have a good signal?
Cannot receive or send texts... another question would be...you were able to before, then it stopped, then you could? So its hit or miss?

I see you did wipe cache and dalvik...so yer good there.
I see you talked to Splint, I mean, Sprint (haha)--and they said all is good blah blah blah.
I know you are on Decks, so updating your prl will not work unless you make a nandroid backup, flash mikg and update, then nand restore decks.
hmmmm.....last ditch effort as ocn said, wipe cache, dalvik, reflash rom.
I see no mention of flashing decks over itself and then issues arise.

I was toying with flashing PapaSmurfs new cm9 style rom until decks updates. Papa is going to have an update this weekend he says, soooooo...maybe..

Yeah I hear ya...but who knows maybe we'll all meet up on another forum! (Still trying to decide on which phone?!?!?)

Doesn't seem to have corrected my phone calling capability! Tried calling wifey and it oes through the motions but NEVER rings - on my end or hers - then after about 15 secs it says call was lost..

Do you have a decent signal?
And that rom you flashed.....I assume it is, or is not, a sense rom?
