I have been on aosp forever cm7.1 and. 2 decks reloaded savaged Zen was where I started. Yeah that's how long its been. I have updated radios but I haven't updated profile or pro in a loooooong time. I get great 3g speeds (no 4g in my area). Should I flash to a sense rom and do this? Or is it in no way necessary, or would I possibly get better 3g speeds with it?

It has been suggested that updating them in the order of prl and then profile is the optimal way to do it.

If you are getting good speeds as is, I wouldn't do it. :D
I'm thinking I concur....if it ain't broke, dont fix it.
Do you know if your prl is outdated?
Not sure what profile does, never really did it and never looked into it.

first time I ever saw it, I did a speed test before and after. my speeds got worse.

i haven't actually ever done anything that has given me an improvement in speed.

That being said, there is more than just our phones and prl's in the equation, you can have great signal strength, but if a bunch of other folk decide to use their phones at that time, or whatever, there goes your speed.

I do like the theoretical idea behind it, it has just never panned out for me personally.

Also, if I AM going to have trouble with my gps on an aosp rom, it usually happens after I restore an aosp nand. I hate that problem and have had to jump through all sorts of hoops to get it straight when I have had it. If I am on an aosp ro and it is working good, I really hesitate to leave it. just my 2 cents. here, take my soapbox to give it a rest! :)
