Help Help transferring my phone number to used Evo 4G

I bought a used Evo 4G and want to transfer my phone number to it. My carrier is Credo, which uses the Sprint network. My old phone is an LG Remarq.

I called tech support but they wouldn't do the transfer, something about licenses. That tells me it's possible, but now I'm on my own.

I'm a novice -rooted my Droid Eris ages ago - but I can handle rooting/flashing if that's what's required.

welcome to the forums!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
well i have never heard of credo as most here have the evo flashed to either boost or metro. but here is a guide to boost: http://androidforums.com/evo-4g-all-things-root/460035-evo-4g-boost-mobile-guide-evo-3d.html. now the exact info here most certainly will not work for you, however it does go into how to use cdma workshop which you most likely will need. i believe you will need a donor phone as well that is on credo for this to work.

that is all i can really help you with as i have never done any flashing of phones to a different network.

Thanks for the link. I'll check it out. Hopefully this process will be similar - simpler even - since I'm staying on the Sprint network. I just need to make the Evo 4G pretend it's my old LG phone. Already rooted it :)

Help!!

I'm stuck on getting the SPC/MSL for my old phone. The memory addresses in the guide (Evo 4G to Boost Mobile Guide/Evo 3D.) are specific to the Rant, and I can't find the correct addresses to plug in for the Remarq.

GetSPC doesn't work on the LG Remarq (not an Android handset). From what I've gathered, the MSL is specific to the handset model (which is why GetSPC works).

If I can get past this hump, I'm confident I can handle the rest.

UPDATE: Went to a cel phone repairer to get the MSL code. Now I'm stuck reading the donor phone's nv_items. 465 is good, but 466 and 1192 just show "Access denied" and 1194 shows as unused.

Having some trouble getting my nvitems and HA/AAA codes. My donor phone is an ancient LG Remarq. NVITEM 466, 1192, and 1194 return access denied, like so:

Skipping ahead, the second problem I expect to encounter is in what OP called "Round 4." Where do I find the password for my donor phone to enter in QXDM?

Got half an answer at the Howard Forums. I should be able to read the NVITEMS if I put my phone in diagnostic mode.

Now I just need to find where the code to enter diagnostic mode for an LG Remarq...

If anyone has any tips to help with either of those issues, please speak up!
