Root [CDMA] Wifi tether app

So pretty much since I've been running ics roms I haven't been able to get the tether to fully work I always get starting Wifi interface and starting softap failed. But never had this problem on a gb ROM. No matter how I tweak the settings. Anyone else experience this and possibly know a fix that's on a ics roms?

I was down in Columbia visiting my Mom and had to get wireless tether working with my laptop to help activate her cable modem. The settings that worked for me that are different than the defaults (that I am aware of) are as follows:

Device profile: Generic ICS
Enable Wifi; Encryption: checked
Change Passphrase: (your custom choice)
ChangeSSID: (your custom choice)
Enable Access-Control: NOT checked
Routing Fix: Checked

Lol I always had it set to the 3vo never thought to set it to generic ics
