Help Help! There are weird things happening with my phone.

I have the Ex 2 on T-Mobile prepaid. Lately, my phone has been doing weird things.

For example, I keep getting unusual notifications in the notifications menu at the top of the home screen, like that I won a free app, or other suspicious things of that nature.

Also, today, a bunch of icons appeared on my home screens that I didn't install. Things such as Priceline, Spy On Her, Zillow, Speed Boost, Partner Locator, App Store, Market, and Sexy Wallpapers.

I didn't download or install any of these, but they just appeared out of nowhere.

I'm a bit concerned. This actually happened once before, then I did a factory reset, and now it's happening again. Why would these events happen? Is my phone infected?

It's probably some app pushing ads to your notification panel. Go to the Play Store and download Addon Detector. Run it, and scan for apps that can push ads. Uninstall the culprit and you're done.

There is a SIMPLE Solution to your Problem.
Firstly, go to Setting and select Account and Sync
Secondly, DISABLE Background Data. Note that when the Background Data is Enabled, it allows Applications to send, receive & update at ANY time. This may be the source of your Phantom Apps

Firstly, go to Setting and select Account and Sync
Secondly, DISABLE Background Data. Note that when the Background Data is Enabled, it allows Applications to send, receive & update at ANY time. This may be the source of your Phantom Apps

Background data DOES NOT do what he had described. I'm very positive it's an app he had repeatedly installed himself that has AirPush built into it. As I've said earlier, use Addons Detector to find the culprit app, and uninstall it.
