Help Flash Player not working after ICS upgrade

upgraded my tab to ICS a couple days ago, and is working great. except...
now the Flash Player doesn't work. on any site that has Flash content, it just shows a blank white area with a little blue lego in the middle.

it's the latest version of flash 11.1.

anyone else have this problem, or is it working for you? any ideas for fixing it?

Having the same problem. I thought i read flash only worked for adobe 4.0.0 and we are 4.0.4 and supposedly adobe air takes its place? Not doing anything for me though.

It will never work on Chrome but should be fine with Dolphin and Firefox. We have not used the stock browser on my wife's SGT. It even works on Firefox on my JB Nexus 7.

actually, that how I discovered it was working. thought maybe it was because I was using Dolphin, so I tried the default browser, still didn't work. then loaded Chrome, and it DID work, but then failed a little later. so finally reset the Tab again, and then it was working on all browsers. (so ditched chrome and back to dolphin.)

When you say you reset--do you mean a factory reset? I can't get youtube videos that are embedded in a forum site to play. Just get the white screen, and then nothing.

Don't want to do a factory reset unless I have to...

please let us know what do you mean by reseting the tablet how can i make it, after I updated my tablet my flash player it's not working neither!! It is very frustrating.

Go to the settings menu on your tablet.
On the left panel of settings, scroll down to the "backup and reset" entry.
Click that and follow the instructions.
If you do a reset, you will restore your tablet to it's new condition, meaning like it was when you first got it.
This also means it will delete any apps you installed, and anything you may have stored on it, like photos, music, saved e-mails, etc.
So, if you decide to do a reset, make sure you have anything important backed up.
Aftet a reset, you can re-download your apps from the Play Store.
Be sure to also update the apps that are installed with the OS. You can also do this from the Play Store.
You'll also have to setup your homescreen, redo any customizations you may have done, and so on.
It takes some time to do all of this, but you'll have a nice, clean installation of the operating system. But I can't say if it will solve your problems with YouTube.

Ya know, I've read posts on different forums from people having problems with Flash.
Never occured to me that they might not have reinstalled it.

I tried the reset, hoping for the clean "as you got it" revert mentioned by Jacksmyname, but all I succeeded in doing was losing all my photos, bookmarks, etc., and was still on 4.0.4. So no success there. My next step is to go the site referenced by jfhawk99 and do the install. My only question before I do this is about the warning Google shows saying that the install is not supported by Adobe on anything after 4.0 and that installing it could make the device not run properly or actually harm it.

Is that really true, or just a "must say" about installing anything no longer officially supported? I'm not a techie, just an artist who wants to watch hours of Photoshop and Illustrator training videos with the comfort and convenience of her tablet, and doesn't know much about what's going on under the hood. So my question to all you really smart and experienced folk - Can doing the unauthorized install of Flash hurt my device in any way or is the warning just to cover their butt? Don't want to break my tablet, just want to watch online training videos. My guess is that the worst thing that would probably happen is that Flash would not work very well (or at all) and I would have to remove it and maybe do another reset. I still wouldn't have Flash, but at least I would have tried everything I could. - Thanks for all the valuable info I'm finding here.

That's what is supposed to happen, wipe the tablet setup and start with a fresh setup. But it doesn't revert to an earlier version of Android, just resets the current firmware version.

No it's just software and can't really harm the device. It could cause unstable behaviour like crashing, crash other apps or the OS, but it can't actually damage the hardware. As you said, worst case scenario is you would need to do another factory reset to wipe off the bad software and start over.

Forgot to mention that I have Flash installed and working just fine with both the stock browser and Firefox (which has tablet support now, yay!).

Try to upade the FLASH PLAYER from google play.
It should work after complete the installing process.

Well, I just installed Flash from Google, and the videos seem to be playing just fine. I haven't watched one all the way through yet, but I'm not anticipating any problem. It will be a cold day in he** before I install any update w/o having ALL the facts! Live and learn. Thanks to all of you for the help. I was on the brink of tears at the thought of not being able to train on my tablet. You guys are the BEST. Hugs all around! Signing off.

+1 for what 'jfhawk99' says above. My tab did an ota upgrade to ICS and my flash stopped working. I'm using the built in browser.
I followed the link as mentioned and upgraded flash. Browser is now working again. I think they're moving more towards an independent app based flash our something of the sort which is why they seem to be phasing out support for flash as we know it.

Upgraded my Tab 10.1 to Android 4.0.4 last month and started to have a problem with videos on sites like ColbertNation, but not with YouTube. I had problems woith all four of my browsers: Firefox Beta, Opera, Skyfire, and the regular Android browser. After fooling around with the settings for Desktop and User Agent where available in the various browsers and having no success, I downloaded another browser -- Dolphin -- and that seems to work, with User Agent set to iPhone or iPad. Sometimes it also works fine with the User Agent on Android, but it may be occasionally iffy. Anyway, that's what worked for me: Dolphin...now my favorite browser.
