I just checked out the Lets Talk website and you're actually getting $50 back for purchasing the Eris there. They are offering the Droid for 19.99 and the Devour is free. All prices are with a 2 year contract of course.

What sucks which is the position i am in is that the price you see is only available for the first line on a family plan. so if your the second like me or any other line, you are screwed and have to either buy from verizon themselves, or in a store including walmart and best buy forf the 2 year price. I dont' get an option to buy online like that, Belevie me i woudl love to get it free but instead let's talk wants to charge me $229 for the Devour... Really makes me angry how screwed over you are if you are second on an account. But anyways i'm off to go get the Devour for $98 at walmart this morning because i can't wait no longer for an Android Phone!!!!:D:D:D. Plus i want a querty keyboard so between that and the Droid, the Devour wins.

Yesterday after work I went into my local Verizon store and asked to speak to a salesman about purchasing a Droid.

The manager was standing at the sales kiosk with him, and I asked him about the 30 day return policy and what happens if another phone comes out. He confirmed what was posted on the VZW web site, and asked me what phone I was waiting for.

I told him I was originally waiting for the Nexus One, until I heard about all the screen issues. Then I said I was waiting for ADR6300, the HTC Incredible. He said he had never heard of it, and they typically get notified 2-3 months in advance on all phones. They knew about the Devour 3 months before it even shipped to anyone he said. I asked him what was filling the slot for the EoL Eris, his reply was that the Devour is just fine for that slot.

He did not do the "wink wink, nudge nudge" that other people in the thread have had managers or sales reps do. He made no suggestions towards any new products from HTC soon at all.

If he's right, then I did the right thing as I am not waiting over 2-3 months. If he's wrong, then I'll be returning this. I don't see any reason for him to lie to me, since the new phone would actually cost more.

You guys are welcome to call the corporate store on Tilton Road in Northfield, NJ and speak to a sales rep.

Those guys don't know anything. The Eris was announced and released in the span of one week. And NO one knew about that one. There was very little info leak until right before it came out.

FWIW, I had called the local Best Buy back in November, about a week before Droid release, to set up an appointment to get my Droid on launch day. During the conversation with the very chatty and polite gal on the phone, she asked which Droid I wanted. The Moto Droid or the HTC Droid eris. I had not heard of the eris and had been following a lot of the tech blogs. I got the Moto but subsequently returned it within my 30 days. Point being that I had never heard of the eris less than a week before its release.

my .02's..Im guessing the BOGO of the ends the first.. ANd doesnt vzn have a new 14 day return/exchange policy? so two weeks after, the inc comes out and everyone that BOGO droid gets screwed i guess.

There guys, just took this off another thread. Do what you want with it but this seems to note that an HTC phone will be coming around early-mid april. It can be either the HTC Incredible or Nexus One. Im leaning towards the HTC Incredible since the Nexus One is supposed to be sold only online.

LETS PRAY!!!

So today is March 27th. Isn't today supposed to be a really big day??

Rumored release date of the HTC Incredible atleast.

Well im gonna be out the whole day again so hopefully when i come back at like 6 p.m. theres some good news waiting.
March 27th was originally a rumored release date if the Incredible was announced at CTIA. Right now our best bet would be an early April announcement and a mid-late April release

So a friend with an HD2 was in town today, and I got to hold and mess around with his phone. All I have to say is - it looks impressively expansive, yet it was surprisingly pocketable. I'm talking slim-fit jeans, could barely see it in my pocket! I assumed it would be awkward or nerdy-looking, but instead, it just looks expensive / classy. His had a case on it, adding the supposed extra 1mm thickness that the EVO will have.

All I have to say is, HELLO EVO envy! I'm not sure I'll be able to resist the Incredible after launch, but if it's remotely close to the EVO, I might have to jump ship. And at least now, I won't go crazy, since I have a launch window to look forward to!

Remember the EVO will weigh 6 OZ, the incred will weigh 4.59 oz. I wouldn't want your skinny jeans gettin' pulled down

What I have been able to tell is that the Evo will be a little thicker than HD2 and also has a bigger battery, which seems to confirm it. Still, not fat by any means. I am going to a Tmobile store to play with HD2 this weekend and get a feel for it, compared to N1/Inc/Eris size.
