I am S-off and I did the "fix everything by turning your phone into a HTC Evo 4g" I was all happy about it because I was successful doing it, but earlier I got the SMS error message. Plus my phone will randomly reboot it's rare but it does happen. Also I am running midnight rom. I just wish everything was fully working ya know? I paid a lot of money for his phone and I just want a "normal" phone without worrying if my message is going to send or not whenever I write one. I'm sure the majority of ppl on these forums feel the same way, and I know the devs are doing their best. I just want to know why Virgin Mobile can't get something right for once. Think about it... Problems with the Intercept, Optimus V, Triumph, and now this one.. For the love of god get something working VM..

Make sure all the updated files stuck. My baseband didn't stick. It should be 1.09 after the update. Also what version on Midnight rom are you using? Some where known to cause the reboot problem you are speaking of.

After doing all the updates in Leslie Ann's fix thread you should have Baseband version: 1.09.00.0706, PRI version: 1.53_145, PRL version: 60690

I don't think in Leslie Ann's thread version the radio was 1.09.00.0706.
To apply that radio, check out this and download the radio img file based on the latest Sprint EVO 3D firmware release. [RADIO] HTC Evo 3D (CDMA) Radios [PG86IMG.zip] (Updated: 31 July 2012) - xda-developers

you must be on the ENG HBoot (1.04) per Leslie Ann's instructions in that other thread.

Your right I flashed a different radio I forgot lol.:p How is that PRL 61009 your using working?

Ok thanks I flashed that radio, but I still don't notice a difference in signal.. Maybe because I have poor signal in my house idk.. Why didn't leslie's post have that radio file instead of the other one. Thanks for replying! :D

The one she has, has been tested by her and I'm sure she uses it for a reason. For me I was just testing different radios and PRL to see if my signal got better with any combinations and this combo for me seems to be stronger. At least in my area.;)

I actually like the latest VM prl 61009 more than than sprint 60690. Perhaps it's because i'm in nyc and sprint is doing a lot of tower upgrades here that's not reflected in 60690? not sure...

Yea I think Leslie Ann was using the stock radio from 1.13.651.7 OTA/RUU in her guide for everyone. Some folks on xda swear by that radio. Others believe 0808 is the best. And others (like me) have a reason to believe sprint's latest may be the greatest. We're really splitting hairs here I think. No matter what, these towers won't be as strong as verizon, but as long as you're able to get your calls, txt msgs, and internet, then it works for you.

Yeah, I haven't had the resource error sense I've updated, and testing has been good. I texted my other phone, and called it, and they go through very fast. Also vise versa and my Evo got the texts and calls just as quick. I was out in the boonies today, and yesterday, and internet worked great. So no problems here, at all.:D

Hello, I am on midnights 1.20 rom. I changed the radio and the pri, but I couldn't get the prl to change. In the meantime, ever since I changed radios, I have zero bars, sometimes 1 or 2 if Im lucky. When my db signal says -87 I still dont have any bars. Isnt -87 about half strength, so shouldnt I be getting at least some bars with that signal strength??

Before I changed radios, I was getting between 1 and 3 bars all the time because it would fluctuate so much. I dont know about the db signal because I just recently added the signal notification app.
If anyone could give some feedback on those questions, that would be greatly appreciated.

This is what Leslie said in her thread. Maybe give a PRL swap a try?

I don't know if this has been asked before... but what's the difference between this 60690 PRL and the latest VM 61009 PRL?

I just changed to the 60690. in the nyc/queens area and signal seems to be weaker.

How can I change back to the 61009 PRL? (auto update in mobster rom says no updates available)

Search XDA, 61009 is there.
The 60690 is a Sprint PRL rather than Virgin. This means it has roaming towers, which you can't use, but it often seems that either Sprint withholds some towers from us, or doesn't keep us as up to date.

For many, changing this file helps, for a few it hurts.

Also if that does not work, maybe try reverting back to the old radio, or maybe another one might work better for you in the area you are in.

This radio works good for me and might for you. http://tinyurl.com/bthzwxu

When the guide was written, the newest radio had only been out a day and therefore untested. We had been testing the radio in the thread for a few days and was well known and trusted in the Evo 3d forums. At this point, yes the newer radio may be a better choice, I just haven't had a chance to test it yet. Most seem content with what is there so I doubt many have switched to the newer yet.

None of these things will solve everything though.
HTC and Virgin do have an issue somewhere, and while this stuff helps, it can't do everything.

The radio that worked good for you, did you change the number in the android text file from 001 to 002. I read somewhere that someone changed that and there getting a much better signal. I did change that however, Im not seeing any better signal.
