Root Sense 3.6 for our Evo?

i was wondering if anybody could tell me if its possible to port the Evo 3D OTA rom to our Evo 4G using this Guide

I'm barely starting to learn how to use DSIXDA kitchen and all that rom develpment stuff and i want to try this

All the GB ports from the 3D have everything working, so i'm assuming that would also be the case for ics since these 2 phones are very alike.

any devs around to answer this question better?


right now i am downloading the latest stock rooted rom for the shooter and i will give it a shot tonight cguru:

I tried porting the shooter rom to the supersonic about 6 months ago with very little experience.

Its gonna be tough. That thing is big. Jewel is even bigger.

I never finished it because I ran out of time, but man I sure learned a lot. If you have any questions I can try to help.

yea i'm definitely going to need some help on trimming the rom, its about 450 mb
i've been messing with sense roms lately and its a bit complicated but i'm slowly learning how it works. i'm sure once i get my degree in computer science i'll know what im doing

scratch the size lolol, it must be going crazy. i'm editing build prop, not 100% what im doing, but i'll just do trial and error

well finally got my question answered and it can be done but i would need A LOT MORE KNOWLEDGE

so in the mean time, i'll let the pros do their thing and join them once i have learned lol

If you want to try a port, I'd do something easier that's already been done a bunch of times successfully.

The actual hardware on a 3d is quite a bit different. While anything is possible, its going to be a very hard project. As far as I've read, there's not a rom that's been ported from the 3d yet.
Its all about the drivers. And none exist. Your going to have to write your own since there's no support from HTC.
Sorry to put that out there, but its the plain truth. Good luck though!!
I can tell you this, if your able to get it working there will be a lot of new roms in a hurry!
