Help black spots.

i bought this phone yesterday @ t-mobile & last night in my room in pitch blackness while i was in the wallpaper settings i could see some black spots & a small line on left side of phone , i've heard that this is "Normal" for AMOLED screens & seen replies from people who have exchanged their phones & have gotten worse or better with one or few spots but i've also seen a few claiming they have no spots whatsoever, i'm torn at the moment on whether or not to replace it as i already customized it to my liking but seeing the black spots there at night are annoying. what do you guys recommend?

I wold keep it as its very hard to cherry pic. I have to have just the right screen and dark for me to notice them and they are faint. You don't see them when watching movies in a dark room.

can't they test it out at the store though before giving it to you to see if it has that same issue?

if they will let you go into a room and turn off all light sources to test it out then by all means ask them

i have 4 about pencil tip sized dots on my screen...thought about returning it, but ive seen other screens that were MUCH worse and don't want to mess with fate and get one that is worse...i NEVER see them unless im trying to find them

yeah, that's what im going to do. ima ask them to test the replacement phone, i wouldn't wanna go back multiple times like i was with my old metro phone & if im going to have it for 2 yrs why not be problem or glitch free?

I have the same spots on mine, but I can only see them in a dark room after the screen goes black/locked. There all over the screen, but I haven't seen any evidence of them when the screen is actually on. No harm, no foul?

youll never notice them during normal usage...EVER...

best ways to test your phone for them is...

1. use photoshop or something similar and make a completely black image...send it to your phone

or

2. completely cover the camera lens with your finger and snap a picture..

then at night go into a room and turn off ALL of the lights...pull up the picture from either above method...and have a look at your screen...

I see them too, but they are not in the exact same places when it happens, which suggests something to do with the video output to the display. The artifacting suggests a form of video noise, IMO when the display pixels have no active image. I do not see it anytime but all black display and not all the time.

thats interesting...all the screens ive seen them on, they show in the exact same spots all the time...
