Last week my rooted incedible 2 running the below ROM started giving me problems when installing google+. I pulled the battery, as it became unresponsive, and once it booted back up it would quickly become unresponsive again. I finally booted into clockworkmodrecovery v5.0.2.0 and tried installing various new ROMs with no success. Every time I get a errors similar to below. It happens with every ROM I try.

I'm not really sure what's going on here but I suspect I have have some corrupt memory. Any advise would be much appreciated.

ROM Prior to issues:

I tried with a different sdcard. I formatted it using FAT32 and the only thing on it is the CCM7.2_V1.6_Inc2.zip ROM. Then when I booted to the recovery, wiped the cache successfully, then chose the zip from sdcard.

It went into the instillation proccess but ended with a similar error.

E:Error in /sdcard/CCM7.2_V1.6_Inc2.zip
(status 1)
instillation aborted.

Try removing all the underscores from the file name and flash again.

I tried removing the underscores to no avail. I should be selecting install zip from sdcard to flash it right?

Correct.

I'm starting to think you have a problem with your recovery. I highly recommend flashing 4ext Touch Recovery. Even if that isn't the problem, your future will be brighter with 4ext. But I am suspecting your recovery.

I downloaded the 4ext apk but how do I install it with no OS loaded on the phone?

The apk is just the "control app" for use from the os, not the recovery.

I don't remember where I got the img file to flash via fastboot. But I'll see if I can help you find it. On my way to work, so I don't know when I'll get a chance. Probably later today.

Maybe in the meantime you could just try reflashing your CWM recovery to get this problem resolved.

I've been so busy with work and family that I haven't had time to mess with it until today. I tried this morning but can't find any solid instructions on how to flash CMR again.

I tried the below method but the CMR file I get is a .img and apparently I need a zip.

How To Install / Flash ClockworkMod Touch Recovery On Supported Android Devices [Root Only] | Redmond Pie

Do you know how to flash via fastboot? That's how you flash the img file.

I understand Amon RA is a solid recovery. Here's the thread with it in there if you like.

Here's a how-to for flashing fastboot recovery. If this one doesn't float your boat, there's a million if you just google "fastboot flash recovery"
