Factory reset

First, ....... Is factory reset the same as factory data reset. Second, in that same screen is ''automatic restore". What exactly does that do. I read the liittle sentence it says below it, but it's not clear to me. And lastly, if I do a factory reset, will I loose all my apps. I have a few costly ones. One in particular is slingplayer ( 30-35 bucks). thanks people.

By factory reset,all your apps gets cleared
But you can get back your paid apps from the play store
