Holo Launcher (Holo locker)

Very smooth and neat. It also supports folder (multi icon) option and other tweaks that I like.

I am going to stick with this launcher for a while and test more :)

I am not crazy about Holo Locker, it would ignore my security settings and directly unlock the phone. But i do like Holo Launcher for the most part. The only thing i would change about Holo Launcher is the pop up menu, it's very plain....which i guess is part of the reason it runs smooth, but still.
I decided to switch to Go Launcher with an ICS theme because I like the screen transitions and the pop up menu. The only thing the Go Launcher theme is missing that Holo Launchers ICS theme has is the stacked folder preview and fan folder preview, other than that the Go Launcher ICS theme is the same. I can't think of any other function that the Holo Launcher has the the Go Launcher does not....but I am actually keeping both for now. I haven't decided which one i want yet... Plus Go Launcher forces you to have all those shortcuts to GO Widgets, etc.

Also Holo Launcher and Magic Locker seemed to conflict. Magic Locker had to be set as default for it to work, but then it made Holo Launcher misbehave when you pressed the Home button. You could turn off home button for Holo launcher, but I liked to have that option.

The other thing about Holo Locker is that i was looking for a lock screen music widget.

The LG Connect is kind of odd about lockscreen music widgets. The native one only works if the music is already playing when the phone is locked. And the permanent music widgets of other lock screen apps work almost the same way, basically they work within a certain timeframe if the music was played recently, otherwise after a long sleep the widget stops working until you unlock the phone and play the music again.
I liked some of the Magic Locker screens, but I only found 2 with music widgets and i wasn't head over heels for either.

Go Locker however has a built in music widget that is nice. And the default Go Locker theme has a permanent on screen music widget too, but you can't change the shortcuts of that one.

Other issue i had with Magic Locker was that you could allow the shortcuts instant access to the app they are linked to, but than it circumvents/bypasse your security lock.

I wish i could find a lock screen that had:
A) Music Widget, that works no matter how long the phone has been sleeping.
B) Camera Shortcut that goes directly to camera, but upon exiting camera returns to lock screen or security prompt.

I keep hearing about Widget Locker, but i don't see a free or trial version, and i won't pay for something because there is a good chance i won't even like it.

Holy shit. Lol

Are you a representative from the "Go" corporation? Lol jk

If i was to use any other launcher it would be 360. Then it would be adw mainly because it's more customizable than go. But I've never had problems with any of them so it's really matter of preference.

Thanks for your informative, but extremely long, post ;)

I thought about trying the ADW, I might still. By customizable what are some of the highlights?

I guess i can just try it.

I never heard of 360.

I did hear about Launcher Pro though.

Oh and MiLocker. But I am having trouble finding this one.
NM, it's built into MiHome Launcher.

Makes sense, you have to have Go Launcher for Go Locker, though with Go it's optional. ~_~

I am still leaning toward Go Launcher, though there are a few i have yet to try.

I found a "battle of launchers" poll on xda developers and so far here is the breakdown in order from most votes to least.
Apex

Rosie
54
Go Launcher Ex
45
Nova
32
ADW
18
Launcher (default)
7
TSF Shell
6
SPB Shell 3D
4
Launcher Pro

Android Seven Pro

Launcher7 (wp7 ui)

Zeam

Looks like Holo Launcher and MiHome Launcher didn't even make the poll, but the poll is like 3 months old if that makes a difference.

Here are the launchers i have tried.
MiHome Launcher
Holo Launcher
Go Launcher EX

Here are the Lockers that i have tried.
Holo Locker
MiLocker
Go Locker
MagicLocker

As i mentioned earlier, the only thing i have found lacking in Go Launcher is the folder previews that Holo Launcher has.

I am definitely going to give Apex a whirl. And maybe Rosie. And maybe even Nova. But i am going to look up some previews of each, my Android App history on Google Play Store is starting to get long.
