Android Shortcomings.

I HAVE taken it to the source. A number of times. As I'm sure many of those who have had issues have done. And actually, I don't think this is another useless thread of aimless bickering. I think this is a place for others who have the same issues to know it's not THEM, but the phone. Consider yourself lucky that you are 100% satisfied with the function of your Droid.

Me, I'm frustrated! I can't keep a conversation on my phone for more than 5 minutes at a time while I'm on bluetooth. It does not do this when I am not. So yeah.. it's the blue tooth connection. I used to be able to use my old ancient, not so smart phone without a hitch. I just want the same connectivity with my so very smart phone.

who said I am a 100% satified with my phone. I am still learning it coming from a razr2. so you talked to google that wrote the OS? heres an idea speakerphone or hold it up yo your ear. people relys on too much on gadgets. maybe the bt softwear in the droid isnt compatible with the ear peice you are using.

I don't use an earpiece. I talk through my bluetooth directly in the car. It USED to work flawlessly with my OLD phone. Old phone worked. New phone does not. Have I taken it up with Google? NO. I've taken it up with Motorola and Acura. You might think some of the issues others are having are "fluff" but to them, I'm sure, they are meaningful.

I don't mind "learning" about my phone. I play with it constantly and learn new things each day. But I do expect to be able to make phone calls and not lose the connection 100% of the time. At some point. It never fails.

And holding it up to my ear... against the law! Speakerphone.. done that. Should not be going backwards. I have a car that is bluetooth enabled. I expect it to work!

you know instead of griping on here. take it to the source as that's how stuff changes. let them know what you would like to see and if enough people says the same think. you might see it in the next update. man people are getting lazy now a days. pretty soon people will say why cant the phone read my mind to know what I want it to do.

If you think this is such a useless thread, why did you bother replying?

This thread has already proved fruitful for myself and probably others. And often, threads such as these are the first step in getting things done.

I do not see anyone save for you and one other person "bickering," and if anything in this thread is useless it is your commentary. If you do not wish to participate, that is your prerogative. But, if you don't have anything constructive to add, please do the rest of us a favor and exercise that prerogative.

My biggest headache is email. We use Exchange at work and the support that email system is crap at best. When receiving a meeting invite you have to switch to the corporate calendar and pray you find the meeting to accept. And no I don't like Touchdown, I just expect the support to already be there, much like the iPhone. AND where's the folder support to file emails?

Any email outside of gmail, requires you to delete an email outside of the Droid. Man do I love double work.

I will say I LOVE the browser, especially after rooting to DroidMod and having pinch and zoom.

Battery life is at best not worth mentioning. I barely get through the day on a single battery.

Navigation is VERY sweet, every one in a while it's off, but most times spot on.

The docks are a great idea and I have both the home and car. Wish the car dock had a built in charger as I hate to fumble with another cable.

I can't speak for google, but I know for a fact that FoMoCo watches certain forums/bulletin boards and takes the chatter/input very seriously....and this isn't recent behavior...I'm talking 6-8 years ago they were doing it. I'd be EXTREMELY surprised if a company like google didn't know exactly what was being said here.

I have heard the newer Honda's has a bluetooth problem. so I see acura has the same issues. maybe goto an acura forum and ask others if they are having a bluetooth connection problem with certain phones. plus auto companies loves to shift the blame so they dont have to try and fix the problem.
