Video Chat: The Desire has no face-fronting camera...

Skype: Yes, although your provider may supply a native client(3) or you may have to use an app such as Fring fring - Cyrket or Nimbuzz Nimbuzz IM & Voice - Cyrket

History file: I am not sure I understand?

Can you watch streaming movies online?

Youtube is supported natively, The desire also supports flash so Live feeds based on flash should work.

If you mean movie rental streaming ala Netflix, I know of no such service other than transferring the videos to your phone from your computer and then playing them.

In the US, there is a Blockbuster app for Android so it can be done.
Doubt it will be released for the UK.

You can download Skype Lite.

There should be logs.

You can stream as they will have / get flash player.

With regards to no.1 above, here's a third question:-
3. If yes, does it incur a charge for a SMS delivery report or is it free? (Orange charges, 3 doesn't, but T-Mobile??)

I dont know why this phone wont have sms reports as all phones I have had has them.
Not sure if t-mobile charge or not.

2 - HTC supply updated firmware for their phones on their internet site. However, if phone has custom firmware (eg. from phone carrier) then you will need to wait and get specific firmware from them.

So far looks like the T-mobile (UK) firmware is standard HTC - just a splash screen on boot. But until updates are released can't be 100%.

A delivery report is a type of SMS message which you receive when the recipient receives your SMS. If their phone is off when you send the message you won't receive a delivery report until they turn it on. I find this feature very useful and would hesitate to buy a phone that does not have it.

Good to know I will be able to download firmware from the HTC site because I shall be getting a SIM-free phone and would of course want to update it when a new version of Android is released.

he means Txt message delivery reports, like a msg you get sent after you send a txt saying that it has been delivered.

I would be VERY interested to know what you guys think about the music streaming over Bluetooth on the Desire.

- Does it stutter, as techradar reported?
- Does the BT-headset buttons (play/pause, fw etc) only work with the HTC media player as was the case with the Hero?

Sorry to be a pain as i know it has already been answered but can anyone confirm, by putting another network's sim card in, that the T-Mob desires are currently locked?

UPDATE:
I rang T-Mobile and confirmed that Delivery Reports are free (maybe on Contract phones only - check with T-Mobile if you're on PAYG).

In order to activate the Delivery Reports, you need to contact T-Mobile and they will activate it via SMS Service Message to which you need to SAVE it, shut down and reboot the phone.
