Just got my razr and was debating on whether to get a case or not. On one hand, I like the sleek and slim design of the phone. I tried the Case Mate Pop case for it but found that added too much bulk to the phone.

I'd like to hear feedback from those that have a case and those that don't. Thanks.

I decided to go with out a case because in my mind it defeats the purpose of have the slimmest phone.. but there are parts of me that wish I would have had one.. I have the blue Rarz and there is a small chip in it that shines in the light, and theres a little ding on the edge in the back (didn't really know you could dent plastic haha)

I would think about how active you are into consideration with this. If you are more active and out doing things, a case might be a nice thing to have, or if you stay home a lot and your phone is usually just sitting on your table or by your computer, a case may not be needed.

Keep in mind, if you get a case you can always choose to not use it if you feel like it, but if you don't have one you can't just choose to use one haha ;)

hope that helps in your decision

I have smallish hands and found the Razr's size and and fact that it's so thin, hard for me to hold on to. I never dropped it before my Case Mate Pop arrived but it was only a matter of time. Yes, the Case Mate Pop added some bulk but that and the side textured rubber grips added a more secure feeling in my hand. I wouldn't have any cell phone without a protective case.

I love my case. I found it at a kiosk in the mall. It is very thin and does not add that much to the size of the phone. My phone does not have a scratch on it. I have not taken my razr out of my case to carry around in day to day use, but usually i'm not that active. I think it depends on how active you are. I'd recommend a case just because it is such a nice phone and if you do find the right case for it, you'll probably love it.

This is the challenge for me. During the week, I'm suit and tie at work. Evenings and weekends, it's lot's of cycling and hiking (love the Sportypal Pro app).

Ideally, I'd find a very slim case that I can take off and on very easily. Anyone find anything like that?

It's a personal thing, I carry my Razr in a dress shirt breast pocket.
I have a case but stopped using it. I am aware of the risk and accept it. I prefer the phone to be unfettered. When I go out to work on my farm the phone stays in the house. If someone needs me badly they can come get me. It's good to be free from constant accessibility for some time every day.

I bought the Otterbox Commuter case the same day I bought my DRM. I got it from Amazon so I had to wait a few days to get it. It's been on my phone since I got it (3 months) and I don't even notice the size difference anymore. It still fits in my pocket perfectly, and the Commuter case is a slick plastic, not a rubbery outer so it slides in and out of my pocket. I've droped my phone getting in and out of my car a few times, directly on to the pavement. The phone is still in brand new condition. Even the case is still near perfect, with only a couple small scratches. I highly recommend the Otterbox Commuter case. The Defender is a little too bulky and expensive for me.

You can still get it on Amazon for almost half the price that Otterbox sells it for on their site.

No such thing as not having a good quality case on my phone these days. I know a lot of people go naked but all it takes is that one day within your life where you slip and break whatever phone you may own. Chances are it will happen to us all at some point.

For stream line protection (not just a plastic shell) and as others have stated the Otterbox Commuter really can't be beat. Rubber sleeve for shock absorption with a hard shell on top of that.

If you want even more protection the Otterbox Defender encases your entire phone and basically turns it into a tank. Full rubber body, full hard shell body, hard plastic screen protector built into the case itself and a belt clip that goes around all of that. Downside is it does add some bulk but is great if you work outdoors or are just really clumsy with your phone.

This is what I have. It does not add too much thickness to the phone and easily goes in and out of the holster. As an added value, it has a built in viewing stand to be able to watch videos or be able to Skype hands free.

Aduro Shell Holster Combo Case for Motorola Droid RAZR XT912 with Kick-Stand 609224011283 | eBay
This seller has a 99.7 positive feedback.
I recently dropped my phone on concrete from about 4 ft. It fell on the corner of the phone and only slightly damaged the case, which was easily cleaned up. My point is if I had no had the case, I am sure being dropped on the corner would have destroyed the glass.

Bottom line, I would NOT chance NOT having a case!

This is something only the end user can decide. Everyone is different. You should only weigh in one factor when asking yourself if you should get a case or not. One question, "Have I broken phones in the past because I didn't have a case?" If your track record supports you getting a case, then I would recommend getting one. But if you are just being a worry wart, go without it. Cases add bulk and can make the phone dirty or scratched where the case touches the phone.
