Root Delete Default Apps

All i want to do is make it an mp3 player. I only want certain apps. Internet, market, and thats pretty much it. I just want more space on the phone. I want to give it to my kid as an mp3 player. something to play games on. But would like to store music on phone and sd. how do i do this?

1. Buy a large SD-Card ( 16 or 32GB, class10 )

If i wanted 16 or 32 gigs of space for music i would go buy an mp3 player. The whole point of doing it this way is to keep it cheap because...she is a child and as such destroys things mercilessly. So buying another sd card is out of the question. Just want to know what default apps i can delete to get to bare bones. Leaving it to where i can put a game or 2 and some music on it. Its already rooted btw.

with it being rooted just use half ass or ct mod or something like that, that gives you more space using the sd card with a2sd built in. you don't need a larger card. then there will be more space then know what to do with.

Removing stock apps will NOT free up user data.
Stock apps are stored on the /system partition.
Anything you install is placed on the /data partition.
I'm not even sure if Android will see music stored on the /data partition. The media scanner looks on the sdcard. (it might see music on the data partition, but you would need to move it there with a root explorer type app, or with adb)
If you download music with an app, it places it on the sdcard. No sd = no download.

I think he Is gonna place music in system folder.
I don't think it would play it.
Unless you had a player that can scan even system folders.

You could also use the 2gb memory card you got with the phone. I have a list that can help you see moat Apps that are deletable.

Actually, I think it will. But only a few KB,
If you go to /Data/data you'll see that even stock apps have files there. XP
