Hi Scott,

I've been following you work at ScottsRoms, Phandroid and XDA Developers.

I purchased the rezound last December after a short love affair with the Galaxy Nexus. That device had many issues poor sound and dropped data.
I went with the rezound because HTC and Verizon promised Android 4.0 in short order. Long story short the delays in roll out made me very frustrated.

I kept tabs on your ScottsRom website for a Clear Rom based on the final release version of Android 4.0. I guess the delays caused by HTC or Verizion with releasing the final version of Android 4.0 caused you to lose interest in any further development of any Clear Rom baised on 3.14.605.12.

I decided to download and install 3.14.605.10 by installing it in a zip file on the removable storage and flashing using the power button and volume control.

After reading many of the post I'm not sure whether that was the right approach.

I would like to place a rom either the OTA 314.605.12 or another that is stable and is rooted as I need the wifi tether.

I take a lot of photos with my phone so the photo application is important. Also I'm all about removing the Verizon Bloatware.

I'm currently running 3.14.605.10 710RD
Kernel version
3.0.16-gd0049f1
htc-kernal@u18000-build-144 #1
SMP PREEMPT
Build number 3.14.605.10 CL372320 release-keys

I know your busy and I really do appreciate your help.

Thanks Aliasqa (rob) :)
first and foremost, while id like to take credit for scotts roms,i cannot. he is scott scrossler,im just scotty85. :p

as for your other questions, ive moved this to the forum so that the others can share their rom experiences with you. .10 is not the newest leak, there was .3.14.605.12,and then the "world phone" update to 4.03.605.1.

there are stock rooted versions for both from various folks on xda. the world phone rom should work with your current firmware, except for the actual world phone part, wich supposedly requires the new radio to go with it.

if you wish to get all the way up to the world phone rom and firmware, the process can differ slightly if youre s-on or s-off.

Scott ,
I'm sorry about the connection to the Scotts-roms website please accept by apologies. I would like either the latest world based Rom. Or something else stable. My phone is my lifeline so I need it to work I'm currently s-on.

no prollem, its not the first time its happened. its an easy confusion to have.

if you are s-on,i would prolly recomend to:
1)relock
2)run RUU for 3.14.605.12
4)let phone OTA to 4.03.605.1
5)re-unlock
6)temp-flash amon ra recovery and flash super user files.

that way youre on matching world phone rom and firmware. if you then wish to try out some of the custom roms based on the 4.03.605.1 firmware, you can. ive been on the OTA for several days now,its very stable,no issues.

also, read thru this so youve an idea how to most easily flash roms while s-on:

So is Verizon OTA'ing 4.03.605.1 to everyone or is it still a soak? Also didn't they release 4.03.605.2?

i would guess its s soak. a lil research this morning shows there is now 4.03.605.2. wether thats the push or another soak,im not sure.

the general notion of my response was to run the ruu for 3.14.605.12 and let the phone update to whtever world phone update is flyin :D

Scotty,

I Downloaded 3.14.605.12 and renamed it PH98IMG.zip placed it on the SD card and Install through Hboot. I'm in the same situation I was with 3.14.605.10 when I seek an up date via OTA to 4.03.605.1 it does not recognize the 3.14.605.12 install.
I know you prevoiusly said somewhere that there was different means to install the firmware aparently I've done something incorrectly. : (

the OTA may just not have reached you yet,im not sure if its been pushed out everywhere or is still being tested.

there is now an ruu for 4.03.605.2. you might just go ahead and install that,if you are anxious for the world update. otherwise, you can wait patiently. if youre in 3.14.605.12,the OTA will hit you eventually. :)

Scotty, If I look under software update the status shows the source Verizon Wireless
Name: ___________
Status: __________
Code: ___________
Date: ___________
Time: ___________
Description: ________
All of the fields are empty.
I just wanted to know if this is why I'm not getting the World Phone Update?
BTW If I download the World Phone Update can I once again install by placing it on the external memory card and flashing thru Hboot?
Thanks,

Thanks,

correct. flash the the full ruu for the world phone update in hboot.

my phone shows the same thing when i check system updates. it just is not your turn yet ;)

I just want to install the World Phone firmware and Root.
I don't want to Root then unroot and install the World phone firmware.
My primary task is to have Wi-fi tether.

if your not interested in a custom rom,the best course of action would be:
1)relock
2)run world phone RUU
3)re-unlock
4)launch amon recovery and re-install superSU

:)
