ZTE WARP Watering hole

It's not the greatest phone in the world specs wise. But not the worst either. Things acheived on these forums has improved it 10 fold. 512mb of ram, 4gb internal .big screen.

You know what? The old cell phones were the best. With the maybe half inch screen. Know why? You coyldnt kill those things. Sure they could text and call and nothing else really , but damn you didn't have to buy a new one very often.

I miss that old Nokia with the little antenna. Those things were built for punishment

Yeah and you had to manually pull or push the antenna! Haha, the good days of phones, IMO. Sure smartphones are cool, don't get me wrong. Sneeze on it wrong though, and its water damage or a cracked screen. I ran over one of those Nokia's once, and it was fine.

Im sure some lucky SOB would be happy to trade you a old brick phone for your htc.

You just have to treat newer better devices with care or they will retire early

You have a point, but look at technology these days. How long do newerr things last? A few years if you're lucky. Look at all the lemons you get these days, now. How many lemons did you get with those old phones? Or CRT TVs? Not only that, they lasted DECADES, not just years.

Agreed. Your right but that's similar to saying a old clunker car is better than new cars completely run by computers were better because they could be worked on by joe shmoe.
But in reality they were bad on gas, they wont last as long. They did less and had less options and required a bigger Engine to have the same performance

-agreed on the fact things were built more sturdy but that's because the markets nowadays are looking to be lighter and use more advanced electronics to improve. Its electronics making things more vulnerable to damage

With cars...its a bit iffy, really. Can go either way. I can see cars that are older lasting a while, body wise. Engine wise, well...I suppose it depends on the parts and car. It's a toss up there.

Old bodys lasted longer because they were made of solid metal instead of light fiberglass. Newer engines no doubt last longer because the electronics protect them from themselves. Like shutting down a cylinder instead of letting a piston smack a valve through the head. Also new engines are built from aluminum which is lighter and disburses heat better but more vulnerable to damage under certain circumstances because it's not a hard metal
