Not even a little. Not a fan of Apple, but other people are, and if they want to buy the new iPhone, more power to them. Doesn't really affect me one way or the other, as long as Android phones keep coming out. I've tried Apple, and they aren't my bag.

Um... Ditto!

(Pretty much sums up my feelings on the matter. Well said, Hrethgir.)

"rumors also suggest that the handset would run on iOS 6, which would be completely scalable to a larger 640 x 1136 display. The device is also likely to feature a much-improved processor, 4G LTE technology, Near Field Communication (NFC), 1GB RAM, iOS 6, improved Siri, liquidmetal casing, an 8 megapixel (or even higher) rear camera, a 2 megapixel front-facing camera for video chatting and a much-improved battery life"

So basically catching up with current Android hardware (ie Samsung HTC)

No. Ever since I switched from the 3GS back in the day to android. I have never looked back. I have messed with a 4s and it's still plain, boring, and basic.
I don't expect to next gen to be that much different. I am very happy with android. It would take something massive for me to go back to ios and nothing of that caliber is on the horizon.

I'm a big fan of Android and other Google products and services.

But hey, the first iPhone was really something [HD] Steve Jobs - 2007 iPhone Presentation ( Part 1 of 2 ) - YouTube and I would really like to see a really good competitor to Android.

The iPhone 5 will probably be unveiled in september, I'm too lasy to search for the exact date.

So tell me what are your expectations for the iPhone?

Thanks,
Kadimi.

I just came over from using an iPhone 4s, I now have the HTC Inc. 4g....in short, there's no going back, ICS and the general Android environment are just so much better and sophisticated, imo.

But needless to say, of course the iphone 5 will appeal to the masses, which is great, just as long as I can get an official Jellybean on my HTC in the near future, and we keep getting great Android devices!

As an Android user I expect to see features Android already have in existence.

Exactly. I remember the revolutionary notification blind on the iOS system and thinking, hell, my HTC hero had that 3 yrs ago. Very revolutionary indeed. I guess its only amazing when apple uses it. Needless to say, I'm android for ever. IOS is bland, boring and a has been. Android develops all the cool stuff that apple rips off.

All of them because they are brainwashed lemmings of the evil empire.

The same mentality exists on the android side, too. Al of you "brainwashed" consumers thinking you need the next big android thing; the countless beta tests you go through waiting for the next revision of the android OS hoping all the while, Google and your carrier gets it right this time.

We are all the same.

Apple, you go, girl!

:p :p :p :p :p :p :p :p :p :p

For example . . . what exactly did Apple rip off?

You know, gang . . . this is an Android forum but that does not mean you need to arrive on fire for android all the while hating Apple and iOS. Do not think it impresses those of us that know things about both systems when you scream android pride and apple hate. Remember, both systems are tools to get the friggin job done and NEITHER SYSTEM IS BETTER OR WORSE THAN THE OTHER!!!

When you JB your iDevices, you can have everything android offers. Android is NOT special, better, more cool or all that different than iOS.

You can freely admit to liking Apple and you bloody well should appreciate that they are largely why we have Android. Be happy you have that new android tablet but toss a little thanks Apple's way because they helped get you here. Without iPads and iPhones

I love Apple. I love iOS. I love my iPad and I will soon run away with my iPhone, leaving the Triumph alone to sulk. Neither phone is superior and neither device sucks as so many apple haters and android lovers seem to think.

Be happy Apple is so successful and be pleased apple sells so many iDevices. Be worried when Applee stops selling stuff because android will follow. Be happy there is so mucg crap on the android side to purchase.

Millions will buy. Many android users will probably jump ship. Apple will grow bigger and nobody knows what the next model will bring. I expect a good, solid, well made iPhone with new features and enhancements. In other words, the usual.

Jailbreakers will struggle to release a stable jailbreak and android novices will start up, yet again, with the silly, BS based "facts" that apple stole this or that from Android. In other words, the usual forum crap and corruption.

I also expect something that changes another game and manufacturers will try to keep up as Apple sells millions of the next big thing and again, more silly comments and foolishness.

Of course it's going to be a success. There is a lot of truth to the saying that apple could put a logo on a piece of crap and sell millions. I do doubt that they will sell 250 million of them though.
With that out of the way, all I expect from them this time around is catching up with what android phones have had for two years, a 4g data connection.

The question I want to know is how many people bought a 4s last year are buying a 5 this year?

Far fewer than the numbers of android users that seem to buy the next big thing on the android side, I'll bet. What might your point be? That apple customers waste money on the new iPhone just because it is new and from apple?

Well, sir . . . take a look at android customers that purchase new android phones. Seems millions purchase the next android device just because it is new. No reason why, they just cant wait to get their hand on the next thing only to long for its replacement in a few months that is not upgraded so they try a new carrier or a new brand of phone.

Look at Apple. they release a few models every year or so and they sell millions of phones. Android releases hundreds of new devices constantly, and you android famboys are never satisfied.

Lets face it, Appke is a great company that seems to know what people want. They do not force endless beta tests on their customers like android makers seem to do. I wish Google would come up with a decent OS release candidate so you hapless android users finally get a stable OS to work with. Write your carrier and your phone maker and demand a final release. Tell them you are tired of beta testing an iOS wanna be and get 'er done, dagnabbit.

Smiley:D

But relax, perhaps the next iteration of the android OS will be the Holy Grail in the world of smartphones: an OS that is as useful as iOS.
