Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think MIUI is even based off of Froyo. Also wouldn't be worth the effort, since apparently some patching would enable CM9 and CM10's built-in HDMI support. Just hang in there for a while, friend!

MIUI is based on CyanogenMod. And like you said, going back to FroYo would be a simular amount of work as doing CM7. The result would be a less efficient OS that wouldn't have HDMI until someone figures it out, sense it isn't a part of the framework. I looked into doing CM6 before, but I don't have the skills to make it happen right now. I am learning, though

Some people have made a AOSP/Cyanogen and MIUI before, so I don't see why it couldn't happen. I think that if someone put enough time into this project, then a regular froyo MIUI could be possible.
