app not showing up in menu after installed! please help

hey so im a newbie and just got the G1 and wanted to download the app Chomp Sms, but since i couldnt find it in the Market, i went straight to the website and downloaded it with my G1. after downloading the app i installed it right away, it completed the installation successfully and everything, but the app isnt showing up... what now?! did i do anything wrong?!

and another question... is it possible to download apps with a computer first, THEN install them onto the G1, or do i always have to download apps directly from the G1?

If you have checked the apps tray and the app isnt there....???

Go into the phone settings and to Manage apps ... see if it is there ???

If it is then uninstall it reboot your phone ...

Download and install the program again .... reboot and then check your apps tray ...

ok so i tried all that just now... once i rebooted the phone it still wasnt in the apps tray. After that i tried to install once more, but this time it says it was UNsuccessful... now what?! lol

ps: i already "checked" the Unknown Sources box.

You can download apps on your computer and then put them on your sd card to install from there.

could anyone maybe give me a good website to download apps from... a lot of websites I found are just lists of all the apps.

What do I do if the web browser claims it is installed correctly, but it shows up nowhere, not in the menu nor in the app list in manage applications?
