So after trolling for awhile and 1 post I made the plunge. I ordered my ATT Nexus One today. Hopefully I can expect it on Tuesday cause I am really anxious! I am really hoping that it will be what I want from a device. I am dying to get off the iPhone and onto something more open. I figure if it is not to my liking I will use the 14 day policy and stick with my iphone till something else. If I do like it it's off to Craigslist with my 3g :D

i am a newbbie on this board also . I have been reading about this phone since it came out .I am with sprint and they dont have this phone .... yet. I have had the iphone and switched back to sprint due to all the dropped calls. I am really considering this phone when it comes to sprint. I hear alot of mixed reviews about it though. I had great luck with my G1 but a really hard time adjusting to the Hero. ( too laggy and slow for my liking.) i hope to hear good things when a cdma version comes out. We will see.....

At first, for the topic title I thought you got married! :p:p
I hope you enjoy the Nexus One experience as much as I am, definitely was I was expecting for an Android phone. Could be better of course, but so far is best phone I ever had.

LOL. I am hoping to be able to say the same thing. I am surprised that I stood as long on the iPhone as i have. I normally enjoy more control and customization on all my devices. I will admit though that I did not jailbreak my 3G only my 2G. Maybe I didnt give the 3G a fair shot... but I hate Apple so WHO CARES! :p

As a two-year iPhone user who made the switch as soon as the AT&T version was made available, the Nexus One has surprisingly addressed nearly every gripe I had with my iPhones (I had a 1st Gen & a 3G, never bothered with the 3GS). So far, my biggest complaint is that I miss being able to control the music playback from the lock screen. Everything else is as good or better with Android & the Nexus One. I hope your experience in switching is as good as mine has been, because the N1 makes the iPhone feel like a failed promise.

FYI trolling is the act of going around certain forums over and over again with the sole intention of talking smack about something (a group of people, a certain device, political party, a particular person, etc.) I think you meant "lurking."

congrats on your purchase, its an amazing device. i recently ditched my iphone 3gs in favor of the n1. i have no regrets. one thing i will say is that you may notice the screen is not nearly as responsive as the iphone and the ui is not as fluent (scrolling for example). however once you adjust to that the phone is great, blazingly fast, blows my 3gs out of the water and that phone was no slouch. word of caution, since the platform is so open and not limited like the iphone, watch your battery usage closely, as it does tend to die alot faster than the iphone, then again theres alot more going on within the os compared to the iphone (i.e backround processes). these are just my experiences coming from the iphone, others may have various opinions. i have found call quality to be excellent and while i may not have as many bars of signal as i did with the iphone, the connection is still great and havent experienced any loss of signal or dropped calls. overall, phone is great, hope you stick around and enjoy it

Sorry for the misuse of forum speak :p It is good to hear other former iPhoner's experience here. I was afraid that the screen would be less responsive compared to the iPhone. That has been the case of any touchscreen device I have encountered since the release of the iPhone.I feel like it will be an annoyance but something I will be able to get over if other thing's outshine it. Not having audio control at lock is a minus :( I was fond of that feature.

I recently ditched my iphone and convinced my wife to do the same and both got "sexy nexy's" but my biggest complaint would have to be the lack of copy and paste from emails. I used to do A LOT of c&p in emails on my iphone but I was disappointed to find out that it's not possible. Is this correct or am I mistaken. Love the "openess" of my phone though.

^ Oh Wow! Is this really a feature that is missing?!! I had major complaints about the iPhone because of the lack of copy paste and how long it took to be implemented. I was totally unaware that Android was also lacking this simple but essential feature. I thought I have seen videos of Sense UI having this feature and automatically assumed that vanilla Android would also have it.Someone please say this isn't so.

the n1 is my first android phone that i actually like, but yeah the copy and paste is very limited its kind of annoying. hopefully they will update it ? im also on ATT, other then the copy/paste and reception everything else is good. i actually dont regret switching over at all lol

fyi... the HTC Sense browser has a pretty decent cut and paste tool... very similar to Apple's... works quite well... hopefully they don't get sued over it :D

^ That really sucks, sorry to hear that. Hopefully it gets cleared up and you get your phone. One of the reasons I was anxious to order cause I read how fast it comes. What's happening to you would have killed me.

ya i had the tmobile one on tmobile and switched last week anticipating my phone on friday lol now using a 4 yr old nokia 6230 haha its killing me....
