Just installed this. Did a factory wipe then installed. Let me tell you what, it has got to be the most stable rom out there. The whole experience is insane. The Market is way too cool, doesn't lock or freeze. Visual voicemail works fine, and even YouTube plays!!! Too much to list, just load and check it out. Will post somes screenshots in a bit.

I installed last night and have not had much time to play but sure looks good! Was having some trouble with Vista (to many glitches) so I installed off of my XP desktop and it went without a hitch. One question: I did not do a factory wipe! Was this a mistake?? Unless I find some problems I am not going to reinstall!

I don't think so :) I installed fine on Vista Ultimate

Is the battery issues fixed. I tried V. 2.0 (I think) yesterday and it was eating my battery. Other than that, it worked great. I'm on Fresh 2.0c "french toast" now and seem really stable.

I'll know later on today. Just woke up and battery is fully charged. All updates and syncs on. We'll see :) But this one very stable. Gonna try some Live Wallpapers and see how that pans out. :)

I had battery issues when I installed v2.0 but I did not wipe dalvik. For 2.0r2 I wiped everything (dalvik, battery meter, rotate settings, etc) from Fresh's Prekitchen and then installed 2.0r2 and have not had any issues.

Battery seems to be OK now for me.

Really? Then why does about 90% of this 186 page thread seem to be about problems with things not working right?

Question, how long is the initial boot up after the install? Mine was stuck on the HTC screen for about 12 minutes. Then I reflashed Fresh 1.1. Let me know please. Also, do the live wallpapers work on DC2.0r2?

Mine was stuck there also. I just removed the battery and powered back on. It took a few minutes but it came up fine. I would have stayed with the Fresh 2.0c but when I got a voice mail, I got about 3 text messages on different numbers to call to get it. VVM with this ROM work perfect. DamageControl V2.0r2 isn't perfect, but it's seems pretty close so far.

I will wait for a finished ROM, this "leak" is not a final build from Sprint and is signed with test keys which means protected apps will not show on the market. There are also some bugs with this ROM.

I wish Damage the best on this and hope he can get everything worked out and running, this is definitely a big step in the right direction. Whichever comes first, Fresh or Damage, with a final release 2.1 will be the first I try.

If this really is the latest Sprint ROM, then they have a lot of work before they can release it officially. I know that most of the posts are along the lines of "great work, perfect, but this and that don't work" and this is fine for the hobbyists, but most Sprint customers will be furious if all these major bugs show up in an update.

Some of these bugs are real deal-breakers too, despite the enthusiasm espoused on the XDA site. I mean, c'mon: "Yeah, visual voicemail doesn't work, but I don't use it anyways. Great job! Perfect ROM!"

I don't know what to tell ya. All I know is every phone has issues, the severety of those issues is dependent on each individual and their ability to tolerate certain things. I have had some issues, who hasn't? All I can say is that this rom "IN MY OPINION" is by far the coolest as well as most stable one out there.. All the apps I've installed run fine. I'm kinda bummed that "ShopSavvy" is no where to be found, but overall everything works. I look at it this way, if it doesn't work the first time with this rom or any rom for that matter, redo it untill you are satisfied. And if we spend more time looking for flaws, we lose out on the coolness of the phone..

My motto has always been "Half Full". I look for the good in things and leave the negativity to those that choose to be bitter in life :)

Peace!

It's a recent test build, not a final Sprint product. It's signed with test keys, which is why protected apps like ShopSavvy are hidden in the market, and there have been some issues with permissions. BTW, while I did experience a couple of minor issues that have me using an earlier ROM for now, VVM worked flawlessly for me, and this is the first 2.1 ROM with functional VVM. DC2.0 is a work in progress, still in its infancy. It has yet to be trimmed and optimized, and IMO r2 is already one of the nicer 2.1 ROMs out there, and getting better. I'm with Tbird on this, the glass is already well above half full, and they've just begun pouring.

Most of that was traced back to a PRI problem (which I had btw). Basically, some of us had a bad PRI, which caused our phones not to register as being on the Sprint network. That means any Sprint app would not work. Everyone banded together and within a few hours the problem was identified and the fix found. By the way, the PRI issue was not introduced by this ROM, as other ROMs had the same issue. The consensus seems to be that it may have happened if you flashed an Eris based ROM at some point. With that problem identified and resolved, all the other issues seem minor at this point.

VVM DOES work. Personally, I'm not trying to convince anyone to use it. You can use it or not, doesn't matter to me. I'm sure it will be stable enough for the masses when Sprint releases it. In fact, as I said in another reply, most of the issues with the Sprint based DC2.0r2 ROM were due to PRI issues on certain phones. The ROM itself seems pretty stable.

My original points stay the same. One, if you rely on this phone for business or other important matters, stay away from this ROM. Two, Sprint has a long ways to go if this is truly its latest ROM; i.e., an April official release is not likely.

You all know that anyways. I admit it is fun to muck around with this build and try to figure out why this or that doesn't work, and then call Sprint to get your MSL to unbrick the phone. But then, I don't work for a living.

I haven't found a single issue that effects the working of the phone itself. The problems it has/had are mostly app related.

It was never my intent to argue your points. I meant to contribute an alternative opinion to an interesting discussion, but in no way to make light of your opinion. Please accept my apology if I left that impression on you.

Again, it's a 2 day old adaptation of a test build, and that's exactly why they have them. Clever devs can dissect and nurture a test build into a polished product, and I believe that is exactly how this will pan out. I have no idea of the actual release date, but multiple sources agree that sooner is more likely than later (at which point none of this will matter anyway). Whether or not you flash it is entirely your call, and I would never criticize or argue your choice to be conservative about it. I'm not using it right now either.
