Well, it's official.
I'm switching to Verizon.
I'll still have my Esteem (unless someone wants to buy it?)
So I'll still browse here, but it won't be my main subforum.
I just wanted to say thanks to all of the ROM Developers, themers, testers, Devs..
You guys have taught me a TON about Android, and I can't thank you guys enough.
I'll be heading to the Verizon store today to pick up an S3.
The Esteem was my first Android phone.
When I first got it, I was baffled. It started getting slower, and slower. So I decided to root it and install a custom rom. After a few hours of failing, I finally got Gingersteem Extreme to install.
Then started my journey. I started out knowing nothing, I ended up knowing almost enough to make my own custom rom.
Like I said before, I can't thank you guys enough for all of the experience and knowledge.
Goodbye.
(Damn, this was hard to write. I actually was close to shedding a tear writing this..)

(If anyone wants to buy my Esteem, just pm me :))

Yeah I'm also getting a S3, going with C-spire though, cause there the only people who get good service where I'm moving. I have to wait till they release the phone. Played with one at Bestbuy, yesterday while I returned my Evo V 4G. I'm not a Samsung fan but man I love that phone! Have fun at Verizon they have great service. :D Not where I'm going though lol :(:p

They do have great service. I just can't imagine my cell phone bill being the 3rd highest Bill i would have. My full coverage insurance is cheaper than their prices.
But you do get great service. Just not worth it for me.

I'd buy the s3 and go to straight talk before i signed a contact with one of the top 4.

Yeah, my phone was stolen, didn't know it at the time, that it was stolen, I thought I just lost it but, by the time I called in (A day later) the bill was racked up to 900+ dollars,(He/she must have been on the phone in freaking China!!!) and was told by Verizon, that I had to pay the bill first, then, once I payed it they would do an investigation, and once they determine that it was in fact stolen, they would then, at that time, reimburse me.(6 year customer) I laughed...and hung up the phone. I went down to T-mobile, and stayed with them for 7 years. Left them for Metro(Spent 1 great year with them) cause around the time At&t was trying to buy T-mobile, things at T-mobile just got horrible. That, and At&t U-verse was the biggest joke in the world, with there bill inflation and late fees, when you weren't even late. So, when I heard they where trying to buy them, and customer service was being rude (Which I hear they are really nice now lol!) to me I was feeling the whole U-verse ordeal happening all over again. So I ran for the hills,(Metro). Only reason I left Metro for Virgin mobile, was because I thought Virgin got service where I was going, but I read the coverage map wrong....that and I know an actual Sprint customer that lives close to where I'm moving, and they say its horrible there,(They told me about C-spire which apparently are the best in Mississippi and everyone has them) so now I'm headed to C-spire and I hope they are ok. I wish Metro had 4G where I'm going. Actually C-spire doesn't have 4G as of yet. September is there release of there 4G LTE network (The county/parish I'm moving to is listed on there list:) ) which is when they will more then likely release the S3. God I hope they are good....So I'm not with any carrier till they get a move on it. I just use Nettalk to make calls and Textfree(Or Text+ when Textfree is being a pain) to text and Voxer for two way radio, text, and picture messaging. I'll get by for the time being, thanks to my Hd2!(The best phone I've ever owned)

They don't have straight talk either?

Yeah i had Nextel back in 06 and had them for about 2 years. One Sunday they accidentally cut NY service off for no reason, so i call then up and they said they couldn't activate my phone until Monday even though they could cut my service for no reason on a Sunday. I told them not to even worry about cutting it back on. They said well you'll have to pay a 250 dollar fee. I said pay a fee for you cutting my phone off? (insert about 5 minutes of the worst language possible) and then hung up. They sent me the bill and needless to say they never got their money. Haha. Evil bastards

Lol! and I looked at Straight talk, but they don't really give you a good look at the coverage map. Its looks like I will get talk and text but then I look at the Android map which I'm assuming is for data and it doesn't look like I'll get data. Wish they would change the map and let you zoom in. I don't want to make another jump, and be back in the same boat I was in with Virgin mobile.

i dont know.. i just think that metro is slacking with the speeds... if they ever reach to 7-9 download speed in my area.. i would go back to metro.. but its sad that so many people are leaving because of the bad speeds and connection.. they need to step it up. right now im hitting 12-15 down in my area.. paying $60 for 2gb. thats fine with me actually:)

We're paying quite a bit (Don't even ask  It's a little more than triple your bill....)
But we have 6 or 7 phones on our plan, and 6gb of data (goodbye, unlimited data :()
Well, in my basement, i get fairly good 3g. A lot better than my Esteem that got no signal at all anywhere in our house.
Well, I'm happy with my S3 :D
I'm running cm10 nightlies on it (I tweaked em a little, of course ;))
Stuff flashes so fast  It takes less than a minute to flash a full rom!
My Esteem is still sitting happy with #2 v2.5 in it :D
