Heya all,

Once upon a time I had more time to post, search, ect...but things are ridiculous in my life right now so at this point I thought I'd just risk throwing out the question and hoping for some help. What's the simplest way to mod the cyan/koush notification bar to be black or transparent? Links to files or explicit instructions about files for me to mod, ADB push, whatever...hit me! I have zero time and just enough experience to get myself in trouble. :D

Also, I've never used MM, but if someone points me in the right direction and can ensure that the theme/file work on this rom, I'll give it a go.

Thanks all! Happy droiding!

Here is a link to Cyanogen 5.05 already themed with a bunch of other useful additions. I have used it and it runs great. I know you were just asking about the notification bar but this might be a quick upgrade in all areas including a great theme.

(3-27) Jrummy's Remix Cyanmod 5.0.5.3 V.0.3 *too Many Scripts & Goodies* - CyanogenMod Forum

This is the best rendition of Cyanogen I have found. I ran the NexTheme version (I think it was called XRom) for a day or two...but I was waiting on the "remix" cause it is Cyanogen...perfected!

If all you want is transparent notification bar (and a couple of other random things), then grab this...

http://geomapping.99k.org/Fadelight.zip

This is what it looks like... (Not the icons... just the bar and power widget. )

I threw it together for someone else who was asking about it. It is a metamorph theme, so just download MM and apply it like any other.

And yes, it works with Cyanogen. I've used it on every version since it was released for droid.

Fade, love those mods. Ran it on my Cyanogen, but it won't change the bar. I'm running NexTheme, and I ran both your files in Metamorph. The power control changed, but the bar didn't.

Any thoughts?

(I ran them a couple of times and rebooted probably about 3 as well).

The only thing I can think of is that the framework folders are not the same between nextheme and the stock framework-res for cyanogen. I tried to run that MM theme on another rom a couple of weeks back and I couldn't get it to change the bar, either.

Do you have any experience with adb?

how did you remove the clock in the notification bar?

I willed it away. ;)

i ran this on cyan 5.05.3 and ran it under recovery didnt work any clues?

Absolutely. It is a Metamorph theme... like I said. You don't install it from recovery. you install it with metamorph.

needsdecaf, if you are comfortable with push/pull and know what you are doing, you can pull the framework-res.apk and email it to me. I'll do some poking around and see what I can come up with for you.
