Apps Revenue

As the title says, I'm very new to all this. In the past I created websites using a wysiwyg tool. Now I'm learning to use MIT app inventor with a view to hopefully making some great apps which will hopefully earn me some income.

Would anyone mind telling me how they profit from the apps they make (if they do) and if so, and you don't mind me asking, how much do you make using the methods you use?

As I say, I'm very new and have a lot to learn. There doesn't seem to be an awful lot of info out there like there is with website creation.

Also, can I incorporate adsense into MIT app inventor (both physically and legally!)

What's the best way to earn? ads inside free apps, or paid apps with no ads? Or both?!

Thanks :)

first of all, good luck :)

there is more than 1 way to monetize your apps, for example:

  1. charge for the app's install
  2. in-app purchase (sell stuff in your app)
  3. display ads
  4. display offerwalls etc..
You need to be more specific about your app, but generally to make $ from ads you need to implement some ad network's SDK into your app's code - some ad networks:

Admob
Inmobi
Millenial
AirPush
StartApp

there's many more..

Hey,

There are many ways to generate money out of your apps. The main question is what kind of apps do you want to promote. If your apps are classified into the games category I recommend a paid app or a pay per download model. If your app belongs to the live wallpapers or widgets category you can use a pay per app download model such as startapp's and if you have place in your app you can always use in app ad impressions such as admob or Airpush or push notifications.
I have tested the different CPM'S according to different categories of apps so feel free to ask how to maximize your revenue.

Hi I am curious on this "new" advertisement mode when apps prompt user to install a free app and the app developer get paid. Is this kind of prompt to install free app acceptable users? Previously Airpush of pushing onto the Notification bar cause a lot of users complaint.

Any users wanna comment on this new mode of ad?

Hey,

I think this is an amazing way to promote your apps while keeping them free and not disturbing your end users. Airpush and other similar ad networks can generate a nice income but at the same time create a very bad buzz around the app and around its developer. I suggest leaving the app "clean" without in ad's and using ad networks such as Startapp which offer pay per download.

Hi guys,
I read which some of you have good news about AirPush, and I confirm it (for now :).
I have tried also MobileCore. It has been pretty good for a few months, but now the mobileCore's eCPM is decreased incredibly!!! It was about $1/$2, but now is $0.27/0.18.
Someone of you has the same result?

Hi All,

Appodeal's programmatic mediation puts all demand (RTB, DSPs, Ad Networks, etc.) into a realtime auction for your traffic. Imagine if Airpush, Leadbolt, Ironsource, etc., competed for each of your ad impressions. Appodeal give you access to 30+ demand sources with a single SDK.

Full disclosure: I'm head of sales for Appodeal and would love the chance to chat with you about how we can increase your revenue and decrease the effort you put into monetization.
