I currently own a Stock (unrooted) Prevail and am not prepared to alter or root at this time.
My question is by using the stock task ram manager, what exactly will be deleted by clearing level 1&2, and is backup required before clearing? Also will clearing give me back my diminished internal memory?
Any support and help would be greatly appreciated! !!

Install CWM then you can install any ROM u wish in about 5-10 minutes.

stock, stock w Root, CTMod rooted, CTMod ... the list goes on.

After CWM any changes and backups really are a quick process.
to get cwm you need to root. and that is what they were talking about, how to, (without rooting), and they need to root to unlock the power of the phone.:D

The Task Manager is used to manage RAM, which is memory used to store the launcher and recently launched apps so that they load faster (than from internal storage). Clearing Level 1 memory erases inactive data (not actively running a process in the background like audio playback) and clearing Level 2 erases all data. As the Prevail only comes with 384MB of RAM, a majority of which is used by the OS and launcher, after running a few apps, swiping through homescreens or even scrolling through lists may become sluggish, because of the low amount of available RAM, so clearing Level 2 apps from RAM solves this immediately. However, you will lose all tabs open in browsers and progress in games. You will not lose the acutal apps, as they are stored on an internal 124MB flash drive, which is also a very low amount. Even though you do not want to alter your phone, it is widely known that the Prevail's low amount of internal storage prevents it from being a solid phone out of the box, as even low storage can negatively affect a phone's performance, so until you decide to finally alter your Prevail, you are stuck with a very, very sluggish phone

I was really new to rooting my phone and i can agree with the guys in this thread that if you use the guide they posted you have nothing to worry about. I rooted my phone about 15 minutes after i got home using the rooting the prevail for dummies thread in this forum and within 30 minutes i had one of the best phones you can buy for 59.99 i had an 8 gig micro sd and i used it to add 4 gig internal memory to my phone in such a short time. If you use the guide you have nothing to worry about at all i assure you.
