Galaxy S3 Watering Hole

I was under the impression from an article that samsung own patents for about 10% of 4G LTE tech. Thus is Apple used said tech (based on samsung tech only) samsung can sue as Apple have not paid for a licence and WiMax was an alternative, made by someone else so apple could just use that company's tech as oppose to Samsung's for their 4G LTE needs?

Apple will have to go 4G LTE, they've no other choice at this juncture.

WiMax is already being phased out. 3G will be around longer than WiMax.

Maybe I was thinking of something other than WiMax, but my point was no one company owns patents to All the 4G tech so Apple can use a provider other than Samsung

Mornin' errybody! RL has been getting in the way of forum time lately. Just stopping in before we head off to tailgate before the Nascar race. Severe weather is predicted for race time, so chances of getting the race in are pretty slim. Tomorrow, the hubby does the 100 story stair climb (in full turnout gear) with 342 other firefighters to commemorate the 343 lost in 9/11.

Morning my dear !! Wish you could be around more, but we understand.

Be careful at the race. Your hubby is a good man for that !! Unforunately yes 9/11 is just a couple days away. Very, very sad day for all.

Checking out droidwall?

I will, but I'm steaking up my lemon tree, which is proving much more difficult than I originally thought. The thorns on this sucker are ferocious ! Btw I'm frantically calling my son's and hubby who are all watching football !

What the heck am I thinking. Tree Master X .... Can you help me?

We found out we had poison ivy on our fence yesterday. Not fun stuff.

Looked at Droidwall, think I'll pass on this one myself. It hasn't been updated since December and it sounds like it may be abandonware now.

It would be nice to have a firewall, just not sure this is the one now.

Its only got to do one thing, keep a list of apps you want to approve/block, what else do you want it to do?

So if I'm reading that right. The fact the phone says it's 4G is actually just false advertisement, right ?

A little late with this, but technically speaking 4G is just a marketing term at this point. Real 4G is in the 100 Mbps down area so nothing out now is actual 4G. Anything that is not LTE is just 3G and LTE is really more like 3.5G than true 4G.

By the time we actually see real 4G it will probably be labeled as 6G or something similar.

Unless your in the UK and HSPA/HSDPA is 3.5G(ish)
